Fear of tomatoes

Since I'm in the mood for spinning off threads, I used to dislike tomatoes. In as much as I would eat any food which had toms in but facing up to eating a raw tomato was repugnant to me. I overcame this fear age 17, and now it seems thoroughly ridiculous. So do we have any similar tomato haters here with any cod psychological reasons why the flesh of the red fruit is so troublesome when the taste of the tom is fantastic.

Used to hate'em as well. Now I only dislike them. Actually I thought this thread was about how gigantic tomatos running after you to crush you.

The scene in 'Attack of the Killer Tomatoes' where the guy says the word 'tomato' in a quiet library and everybody runs out screaming was the only funny thing in the movie.

the texture of a tomato is so succlent , with the juice spurting and the yeilding flesh , it does not matter what they taste like.

There is a very bad taste joke to be made here about David, which I have in some ways rendered impotent by alluding to it but not doing it, whilst the mere allusion suggests that I considered it and I am a very unpleasant and unsavoury person.

i have a fear of tomatoes too. i was wondering if there is a medical name for it? if anyone knows please tell me. i don't mind ketchup or tomato soup. its disgusting! raw tomatoes with their gooey slime that i hate which dribbles all over other food. i hate the greeny yucky pips in the middle and my fear is so bad that i can't have them near me!!!!

I don't really like raw tomatoes but it's not fear or anything psychological like that, and I don't avoid anything that even has come into contact with raw tomato. I just don't like the taste and texture.
