Hollywood to Battle for Baghdad
Hollywood movie mogul Jerry Bruckheimer has had his plans to follow an invasion of Baghdad with a set of cameras blocked by the television channel he was hoping would show it.
Bruckheimer, producer of Top Gun and Black Hawk Down, thought he had approval from the American military to take a camera crew into the city once US forces enter.
He has already filmed a series entitled Profiles From The Front Line which followed the military in Afghanistan and wanted to do the same in Iraq.
But now ABC, who showed the original series, have said they don't want the new show.
Bruckheimer says, "We were supposed to go in to Iraq with them. We have a good relationship with the Defense Department, and they were giving us unbelievable access.
"But ABC didn't want to pay for an Iraq version of 'Profiles,'" Bruckheimer adds, "It's frustrating."
