Is this underworld book dealer classic, dud, cutting edge, goofy, all of the above, none of the above or simply unclassifiable?

I think you already answered your own question there. Both all AND none of the above, and completely off-the-map.

Ultra-classic regardless. One of the few catalogs that's totally readble even if you don't order anything.

Yeah, man. The catalog is certainly a hoot... very entertaining and a much better read than most of its inventory. In fact, I have a found that the feeew books that I have gotten from them (the Anarchist's Cookbook being the prime example, quite anticlimactic and disappointing after reading the hype.) Still, the left fieldedness of it all makes the "anarchy" somewhat amusing.
