gareth (gareth), Wednesday, 2 April 2003 14:46 (twenty-one years ago) link

Gareth, was this meant for ILM?

mark p (Mark P), Wednesday, 2 April 2003 14:49 (twenty-one years ago) link

I have it on cassette (oh oldskool, but its to keep the promo from leaking) but can't find the leads for my anti-deluvian cassette deck.

Ed (dali), Wednesday, 2 April 2003 15:07 (twenty-one years ago) link

what's the name of the one that's all silver, please?

Clare (not entirely unhappy), Thursday, 3 April 2003 04:51 (twenty-one years ago) link

incunalbula

Ed (dali), Thursday, 3 April 2003 05:27 (twenty-one years ago) link

Incunabula isn't all silver, and being an autechre pedant there isn't any album that's all silver (sounds more like something from Chain Reaction). Unless silver means green and you want Tri Repetae.

Leee (Leee), Thursday, 3 April 2003 05:41 (twenty-one years ago) link

or black and you mean LP5. the best one btw.

dog latin (dog latin), Thursday, 3 April 2003 16:09 (twenty-one years ago) link

what do you think gareth? (i'm more into baltimore house myself)

Mary (Mary), Friday, 4 April 2003 02:54 (twenty-one years ago) link

...unless white and you mean LP5.

Leee (Leee), Friday, 4 April 2003 04:45 (twenty-one years ago) link

what's the name of the album that came out in '96/'97? that's the one i'm hunting, i think.

Clare (not entirely unhappy), Saturday, 5 April 2003 05:30 (twenty-one years ago) link

1995 - Tri Repetae (the all green cover)
1997 - Chiastic Slide (mostly white cover with black looking turd)

Leee (Leee), Saturday, 5 April 2003 06:16 (twenty-one years ago) link

thanks leee - but i still think that's not quite it cause i think i have a burn of the latter and it wasn't what i had listened to - oh and i am 98% sure it's autechre too, i have wondered that. do you think it's possible it looked different for the australasian market? i'm now starting to wonder whether my boyfriend of the the time invented the whole thing - he was smart and weird enough to.

you're black hawk down lee, ay?

Clare (not entirely unhappy), Saturday, 5 April 2003 19:14 (twenty-one years ago) link

OK. this might be weird, but for some reason I assumed this was about a U.S. army draft planned for July 30th or something insane like that.

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Saturday, 5 April 2003 19:15 (twenty-one years ago) link

Give it time. We've got to invade Antarctica to get rid of those penguins of mass destruction, you know.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Saturday, 5 April 2003 19:18 (twenty-one years ago) link

or maybe a tense new thriller called DRAFT coming out the day. Jodie Foster is alone in a room and she can't figure out where that cold air is coming from! WHERE?!?!?!

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Saturday, 5 April 2003 19:27 (twenty-one years ago) link

At the Wherehouse that's closing down near UCI, the two DVDs that are so overstocked I haven't seen their numbers fall at all over the past month are XXX and Panic Room (third would have to be the fullscreen edition of Attack of the Clones).

Ned Raggett (Ned), Saturday, 5 April 2003 19:31 (twenty-one years ago) link

Whenever they overstock they should start putting copies in random mailboxes. Or bury them in the desert like they did the original E.T. atari game.

But hey, this is an autechre thread! I don't wanna piss off people but hijacking a thread with nonsense. I'll get it back on track.

Hey, I've never heard them. What does Autechre sound like?

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Saturday, 5 April 2003 19:36 (twenty-one years ago) link

Anthony: do you like glitch?

(That's not what they're all about, but they are dedicated to the principle of electronic obscurity-as-transcendence. Ergo, I love them and you would get hives, maybe.)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Saturday, 5 April 2003 19:38 (twenty-one years ago) link

the only glitch I know is the one that Ben Stiller said Ethan Hawke had in "Reality Bites." But what does it SOUND like?

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Saturday, 5 April 2003 19:52 (twenty-one years ago) link

My review of Tri Repetae. They have changed their sound further since.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Saturday, 5 April 2003 20:40 (twenty-one years ago) link

it was tri repetae, and i just got it again today.

i too thought this thread was about a US draft and wondered what 7.30 had to do with it - a time but no place.

Clare (not entirely unhappy), Sunday, 6 April 2003 06:17 (twenty-one years ago) link

I think we got this at the radio station, Ned. If so, I'm gonna check it out. I need to dig into this non-pop techno thingie the kids all are getting out of these days.

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Sunday, 6 April 2003 22:08 (twenty-one years ago) link

Yeah, it's the trend. I hear they wear their pants sideways and drink cold soup too, those kids.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Sunday, 6 April 2003 23:19 (twenty-one years ago) link

HEY YOU STEREOTYPING BASTARD

SOME OF US ARE JUST REGULAR PEOPLE LIKE YOU

Millar (Millar), Monday, 7 April 2003 02:29 (twenty-one years ago) link

Are you human and do you need to be loved?

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 7 April 2003 02:34 (twenty-one years ago) link

Anyone know about the new Gescom EP?

Leee (Leee), Monday, 7 April 2003 05:08 (twenty-one years ago) link
