You're saying OJ's not royal? The Evil Prince of the Nineties.

I can't recall any court portraits in particular. But I do appreciate court type picture, a very nice lo-tech procedure. Long may they countinue. Oh, actually, the Jefferey Archer drawings made him look a wee bit thuggish, hilarious.

Oh, like the court of Henry 8th or lots of olde types round the banquet table? I've seen alot in old houses and castles I've been dragged round. I will pay more attention to them in the future.

the only way of seeing the judicial process in UK, and parliment in former years, get to see people like hamilton and archer going down so classic

Beaky old Federigo da Montefeltro and his wife Battista Sforza in all her death-mask glory.

Queen Maria Theresia from Austria. She's wearing a gigantic dress which overflows with lace.

three weeks pass...
No mention of Velazquez? C'mon, folks!

Another favorite -- Ilya Repin's "Ivan the Terrible." Though that really wasn't a court portrait, since it was painted centuries after Ivan the Terrible died.

Most of the Spanish court potraits seem creepy. But Velaqueszs drunken dwarves are cool !
