"You Too Can Look THIS Good!"

At work yesterday I was looking through some magazines from the early-mid 70's. They were things like Hotspur and Victor and Marvel type stuff. I kept coming across this advert:

"Prove in seven days that you can build hansome muscle. Don't waste your time and evergy with strenuous exercises, weights and other contraptions. Now you can waily have a strong, healthy body crammed with live, rippling handsome muscles. How will you do it? With "Dynamic-Tension" - the discovery that transformed Charles Atlas from a 7 stone weakling into the World's Champion. Send the coupon TODAY for FREE Proof

Here's the kind of body I'd like: MORE MUSCLE : BIGGER CHEST : BIG ARM MUSCLES : TIRELESS LEGS : MORE WEIGHT"

I am intrigued by this. Did anyone ever send off for the booklet? What is Dynamic-Tension? Why don't people use the phrase "7 stone weakling" anymore?

I'm a 13 stone weakling. I get plenty of tension at work.

Paul Merton:

"Charles Atlas says, You too can have a body like mine. He's been dead since the 70's! You wouldn't want that, would you? Down the disco, do that [does John Travolta-style disco point] and your arm falls off..."
