Has anyone else read about this? I can't find anything on it anywhere. Could it possible be related to the encroaching scarcity of bananas? And which country did those dolphins come from anyway? Tunisia, maybe?

There was an overly long human-interest piece on the dolphins here (Louisiana) cause some of them were from Gulfport, Mississippi. In the words of their trainer, "It's great for all Americans to contribute to the effort, even American animals."

I am not making this up. It says so here, about halfway down the page, in Portuguese. You have to find the word 'macacos'.

Humans are very good a detecting land mines, they tend to go up in the air and come down minus limbs.

When we had the Foot'n'muth crisis and the BSE crisis I advocated send condemned British cows over to clear minefields. They were going to die anyway lets make their deaths worthwhile.

Wasn't the meat sold to Third World countries?

Tuomas (Tuomas), Monday, 7 April 2003 11:06 (twenty-two years ago)

No, the cows where burnt on huge pyres across the country.

Ed (dali), Monday, 7 April 2003 11:08 (twenty-two years ago)

I'd be great at clearing those mines. I presume they are on a rigid grid pattern, with numbers on the starting squares and so on?
