Graham (graham), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 12:01 (twenty-two years ago)

Graham (graham), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 12:04 (twenty-two years ago)

YAY! go markH!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 12:06 (twenty-two years ago)

Tht's just a shot of the base of an office chair! That's rubbish!

(unless the cameraman as just been hit by an arrow and keeled over, in which case BEST QUIZ SHOW EVER)

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 12:09 (twenty-two years ago)

100-60

Graham (graham), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 12:12 (twenty-two years ago)

Alan (Alan), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 12:13 (twenty-two years ago)

End of the round, Mark 100-70 Twat James. Mark goes home with NOTHING.

(Though he does pronounce Achtung Baby very well)

Graham (graham), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 12:14 (twenty-two years ago)

Cabbage!!

How does this game work, then? I got the bit where the answer was PASTRY, but the main bits puzzle me.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 12:14 (twenty-two years ago)

poor mark. the james guy was a spaz. a lucky spaz.

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 12:14 (twenty-two years ago)

"strappy" = good word!

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 12:14 (twenty-two years ago)

Wait wait, is Mark winning or catching up? Gosh this is tense.

Dang too slow. Poo, poor Mark. Never mind, eh?

Liz :x (Liz :x), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 12:15 (twenty-two years ago)

PASTRY!!!

C J (C J), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 12:15 (twenty-two years ago)

James won £3000.

Graham (graham), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 12:16 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh, I just saw that Andrew beat me to it with the pastry answer :(

C J (C J), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 12:16 (twenty-two years ago)

Aww - poor Mark. Maybe that James kid cheated - was anyone coughing in the audience?

C J (C J), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 12:17 (twenty-two years ago)

I ws hoping the six letter would be Satrap, but, er, technical issues prevent it. If there was an eight letter word, it could be satrappy.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 12:18 (twenty-two years ago)

hey, what a handsome chap.

g-kit (g-kit), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 12:54 (twenty-two years ago)

how do you feel, mark?

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 12:57 (twenty-two years ago)

Aw Mark, bad luck! Which show are you going to enter next?

Mark C (Mark C), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 14:31 (twenty-two years ago)

That 'drunk' picture is GOLD.

mark p (Mark P), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 14:32 (twenty-two years ago)

Poor Mark, shows these things are just down to luck.

smee (smee), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 14:36 (twenty-two years ago)

The last one looks so sad, it should be titled "The Agony of Defeat" or something.

Nicole (Nicole), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 14:37 (twenty-two years ago)

Or "Going Home Alone".

mark p (Mark P), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 14:53 (twenty-two years ago)

Or 'Coming to terms with a hypersexualised and hypermediated environment that shows every sign of worsening'

N. (nickdastoor), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 15:17 (twenty-two years ago)

Bad luck Mark - a much more than respectable showing.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 17:14 (twenty-two years ago)

It was good fun! I want more TV appearances and I want 'em now!!!

I'm sitting here with the consolation prize right by the monitor! For the record, it is: a Brainteaser mug. a Brainteaser foam-rubber puzzle I haven't figured out yet, a foam-rubber Brainteaser mobile phone (like, cheers) and a signed pic of Craig (like, argh!)

But props to Graham & his live webcam skeelz!

MarkH (MarkH), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 19:42 (twenty-two years ago)

(I should probably mention to anyone that missed it that I managed to get the live webcam image to update about 3 times, mostly when the guy was giving out the phone in question. It said it was uploading fine, but the picture didn't change. So I suck)

Graham (graham), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 20:28 (twenty-two years ago)

Ahahahahaha, the plot thickens: my friend Pam (yes, Oxford Pam, Mark) was watching, because her work pal wanted to see this guy who was on it from her mentalist interweb hobby, which, hilariously enough, is devoted to the shoddy Britpop band Gene! And yes, it was twatty James! Ahahahahaha!

Liz :x (Liz :x), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 07:07 (twenty-two years ago)

MARK! Were you looked after by a weird guy called Tom? I got that Brainteaser going-home bag, too. Didn't you get a bottle of champagne????

Nordicskillz (Nordicskillz), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 08:39 (twenty-two years ago)

Do you think Craig is a cokehead?

Nordicskillz (Nordicskillz), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 11:54 (twenty-two years ago)

yes, I was looked after by Tom! He had henna'd hair! And noisy baggy trousers!

MarkH (MarkH), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 12:04 (twenty-two years ago)

....and I never saw him without his clipboard!

MarkH (MarkH), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 12:05 (twenty-two years ago)

I didn't get any champers! I FEEL CHEATED!

MarkH (MarkH), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 12:06 (twenty-two years ago)

Tom-yes, thin, punky henna'd hair. Very high voice. Funny trousers. Funny clothes. Were the camera crew also complete in-jokey arseholes?

Niiice sandwiches, though.

Nordicskillz (Nordicskillz), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 12:08 (twenty-two years ago)

No champagne? It's a disgrace!
We could start a petition for you if you like? You know, we the undersigned interweb mentalists demand champagne for MarkH coz Nordicskillz got some....

smee (smee), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 12:09 (twenty-two years ago)

are you kidding? They seemed as tho they'd been sitting in the Green Room for the past week! Ew!

MarkH (MarkH), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 12:09 (twenty-two years ago)

I am from a "bad sandwich" family. I don't usually talk about it. But now you've really hurt my feelings...

:(

Nordicskillz (Nordicskillz), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 12:48 (twenty-two years ago)

sorry to insult the sarnie quality in the Skillz household!

Today someone from my company is appearing on telly playing the Jew's harp.

MarkH (MarkH), Thursday, 10 April 2003 09:34 (twenty-two years ago)

Tell him to give it back!

Nordicskillz (Nordicskillz), Thursday, 10 April 2003 09:35 (twenty-two years ago)

Is this person from your company Snoopy? Did Snoopy play that thing all the time, or was it just in the feature-length Snoopy Come Home when he and Woodstock are camping? That was one of the few pre-recorded videos that I saw as a child when we were living in Nigeria.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Thursday, 10 April 2003 09:41 (twenty-two years ago)

It was originally known as the jaws harp apparently, which makes more sense. I don't remember Snoopy ever playing one and as for Snoopy & Woodstock camping I can only remember a strip where Woodstock has used the tent pegs for firewood and Snoopy does his k-klassik "raise eyes to heaven" look.
