Cos they decided to get married, apparently on the Sands of Camber, last weekend.

(Perhaps thats why Chris said "this year was so not about the music"??????)

If the wedding takes place next Easter, Pam & I will be 26 years ahead of you. May you both be as happy if not more so than us.

Mooro (Mooro), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 20:41 (twenty-two years ago)

CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 20:43 (twenty-two years ago)

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 20:48 (twenty-two years ago)

Fabulous news (it rather slipped out at the FAP yesterday, in fact). You are wonderful people and I'm sure you'll be fantastically happy together!

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 20:50 (twenty-two years ago)

so, does anyone know where we can get a nice ring from?

And cheers everyone, FAPS will happen on various continents to celebrate.

chris (chris), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 20:52 (twenty-two years ago)

Congratulations Chris and Vicky!

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 20:53 (twenty-two years ago)

there are SO MANY jewellers in Oxford! it's incredible...there are two within 20 metres of each other and a third one is opening next to one of the existing ones.

MarkH (MarkH), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 20:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Mark, we walked the length of Hatton Garden this afternoon! and then Oxford circus and Bond street. BUt Oxford may well get visited.

chris (chris), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 20:57 (twenty-two years ago)

Terrific news!! (actually I heard it earlier this evening but still).

Mooro's announcement is tantalisingly vague. Are you actually going to get married on the beach?

N. (nickdastoor), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 20:58 (twenty-two years ago)

No we're going to get married in a park, one quite central, hopefully.

chris (chris), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 20:59 (twenty-two years ago)

allyC told about and that he felt bad that he hadn't heard/understood when it was first annouced and that he hadn't congratulated you both properly.

congratulations to you both!

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 21:00 (twenty-two years ago)

Not Primose Hill!?

N. (nickdastoor), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 21:01 (twenty-two years ago)

N. (nickdastoor), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 21:01 (twenty-two years ago)

Central Park, New York?

MarkH (MarkH), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 21:01 (twenty-two years ago)

That Mr Hester, he quite clever

chris (chris), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 21:01 (twenty-two years ago)

Sorry for vagueness. Vagues sur la plage. The decision or proposal was on the beach, the wedding to take place in NYC. Next April.

No more tantalus.

Mooro (Mooro), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 21:02 (twenty-two years ago)

Congratulations!

Nicole (Nicole), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 21:02 (twenty-two years ago)

NYC is madness! But I like it.

N. (nickdastoor), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 21:03 (twenty-two years ago)

he quite clever

not as clever as James, a Sales Assistant from London, sadly.....

MarkH (MarkH), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 21:03 (twenty-two years ago)

NYC pre-wedding FAP then?
(Warning: potential Ruination on hitherto-unseen scale)

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 21:04 (twenty-two years ago)

Whoohoo! Marital bliss rah! Congratulations indeed. :-)

Schedule the prewedding FAP in NYC for July 4. ;-)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 21:05 (twenty-two years ago)

Not Madness N., but cheaper than getting all families from miles around to some place round here.

ok, maybe we're a little CRAYZEEEEEEEEEE

chris (chris), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 21:06 (twenty-two years ago)

Brilliant news Chris, congratulations.

Cozen (Cozen), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 21:11 (twenty-two years ago)

Waaaaaah so unfair you're getting married on foreign shores and loads of us won't get to see first-hand how pretty you'll both be looking. Or catch the bouquet, ho ho.

But ENORMOUS congratulations on the wonderfulness of this development.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 08:08 (twenty-two years ago)

Haha that should have been ENORMOUS!

Liz :x (Liz :x), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 08:09 (twenty-two years ago)

ENORMOUS

MarkH (MarkH), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 08:14 (twenty-two years ago)

I bet Gene fan James has even bigger text. Ahem.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 08:17 (twenty-two years ago)

Congratulations!!

smee (smee), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 08:19 (twenty-two years ago)

This is great! Congratulations!

My girlfriend is still pissed at me for not proposing "the right way".

We did Bond Street, Oxford Street, Hatton Garden, and all the rings looked the same. But she designed her ring and we put a diamond in that is kind of a family heirloom of mine. Hooray for creativity!

Nordicskillz (Nordicskillz), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 08:24 (twenty-two years ago)

Congratulations Chris & Vicky. Is this the first ILx wedding? (Two regular posers?)

Pete (Pete), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 08:27 (twenty-two years ago)

haha.

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 08:28 (twenty-two years ago)

haha

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 08:28 (twenty-two years ago)

You did mean to say "two regular posters", didn't you?

Anyway, RAH! Congratulations Chris and Vicky. That has made my day.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 08:31 (twenty-two years ago)

Um - yes posters.

Only Cabbage is a regular poser - haha.

Pete (Pete), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 08:33 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm so happy the piles of paper on my desk, chock-a-block email in tray, and people lining up to ask me things after my mini-break aren't geting me down at all, I still have a grin on my face!

Vicky (Vicky), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 08:37 (twenty-two years ago)

Congratulations (and jubilations) to the both of you!

robster (robster), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 08:47 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh, you guys! I'm wellin' up here!

Congravickyandchrisilations!

'raaaY!

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 09:04 (twenty-two years ago)

A hellish day of work is being made a lot better by all you lot and the nice people here who would much rather hear about fun things like engagements than boring work stuff.

chris (chris), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 09:04 (twenty-two years ago)

Congratulations Chris and Vicky! I shall be in Central Park with knobs on (as part of a morris-dancing convention, obv), and demand to meet the New York ILX pose in full effect :)

Mark C (Mark C), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 09:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Would that be the New York regular pose?

Liz :x (Liz :x), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 10:07 (twenty-two years ago)

There's some kind of hive-mind Freudian typo thing going on here.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 10:08 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh my God! That's brilliant. Congratualtions you two. Damn good job you stopped all that platonic shit isn't it?

Anna (Anna), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 10:10 (twenty-two years ago)

A pose by another name would smell as sweet.

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 10:13 (twenty-two years ago)

The Poseman Always Rings Twice

Liz :x (Liz :x), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 10:14 (twenty-two years ago)

Congrats to u both!!!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 10:16 (twenty-two years ago)

Michael's photos have an extraordinary ethereal quality, and I seem to be the only person actually there not in any of them. maybe it's for the best as my tie was all wacko

stevem (blueski), Friday, 30 April 2004 18:10 (twenty-one years ago)

I thought that was a style.

RJG (RJG), Friday, 30 April 2004 18:15 (twenty-one years ago)

The minestrone suit.

Talk about the joke that keeps on giving.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 30 April 2004 18:18 (twenty-one years ago)

Is Tim carrying a ...manbag?

N. (nickdastoor), Friday, 30 April 2004 18:49 (twenty-one years ago)

Beautiful. Congratulations.

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Friday, 30 April 2004 18:53 (twenty-one years ago)

Ooh, more photos! Thanks, Mike. I am moved all over again!

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Friday, 30 April 2004 19:04 (twenty-one years ago)

what wonderful pictures - they really capture the spirit of the occasion. everyone looks immaculate. I went 'awww' for the 'awww' pic before I saw that the caption was....

MarkH (MarkH), Friday, 30 April 2004 19:05 (twenty-one years ago)

the 'Security' and 'acceptable face(s) of football' captions had me rolling

stevem (blueski), Friday, 30 April 2004 19:17 (twenty-one years ago)

These were great. I want to get married all over again, but with a fur coat on, in a park. And hasn't Ally C got really (more) photogenic all of a sudden? (what, you mean he's a bloke, etc etc)

Mike, what is that place you are standing at with all the hands?

ailsa (ailsa), Saturday, 1 May 2004 11:07 (twenty-one years ago)

And hasn't Ally C got really (more) photogenic all of a sudden? (what, you mean he's a bloke, etc etc)

It's the hair. He refuses to believe this.

N. (nickdastoor), Saturday, 1 May 2004 11:17 (twenty-one years ago)

Has he improved in real life too (I haven't been out to the pub with you lot for too long)?

ailsa (ailsa), Saturday, 1 May 2004 11:19 (twenty-one years ago)

no.

RJG (RJG), Saturday, 1 May 2004 11:23 (twenty-one years ago)

I suspected as much.

ailsa (ailsa), Saturday, 1 May 2004 11:24 (twenty-one years ago)

Ailsa - it's Fishs Eddy, NYC purveyors of "sturdy-ware", corner of E19th and Broadway, I think. Wonderful place.

Stevem - somehow you managed to escape Pam's Kodak* (possibly because I rudely failed to introduce you and she didn't realise you were 'one of us' until the evening), but I think you're on a few Canon pix, which I'll go through properly this afternoon. I did scan in the best ten of those - you can probably tell which ones on the Yahoo site are analogue-sourced; I suspect you'll be on the restaurant shots which, as you can tell from Cutting the pig, are saturated red and kinda rubbish.

(* - the bulk of these were taken by Pam with a $60 kids' camera - I shall deflect your kind words onto her!)

There are QuickTime movie clips too - again with the Kodak - but I fear I'll bust my Yahoo account if I upload them there. Due to some disagreement between my soundcard drivers and the application, the sound on these clips sounds like it's been reimagined by Autechre but perhaps other folks will have more luck. I'll sort it out next week.

Michael Jones (MichaelJ), Saturday, 1 May 2004 11:26 (twenty-one years ago)

I thought he was looking pretty damn buff last night. Ignore the saturnian RJG.

N. (nickdastoor), Saturday, 1 May 2004 11:29 (twenty-one years ago)

I like the picture of the Redfords, I mean, the Carsmiles.

the bellefox, Saturday, 1 May 2004 13:01 (twenty-one years ago)

N looked very nice last night. I danced to 'I Thought You Were My Boyfriend'! Unbelievable!

Madchen (Madchen), Saturday, 1 May 2004 17:38 (twenty-one years ago)

Damn, I was going to get it cut on Monday.

Ally C (Ally C), Saturday, 1 May 2004 17:39 (twenty-one years ago)

I was going to post something so wise that you wouldn't have been able to believe it was realy me.

RJG (RJG), Saturday, 1 May 2004 17:40 (twenty-one years ago)

sp.

Madchen (Madchen), Saturday, 1 May 2004 17:40 (twenty-one years ago)

you mean, you were going to get it cut, this monday, but you will, now, wait, until after next weekend, so as to get dumped?

my wiseness would have been lost, on you.

no sp.

RJG (RJG), Saturday, 1 May 2004 17:41 (twenty-one years ago)

Madchen only wants it cut to deflect other female attention. OK, male.

N. (nickdastoor), Saturday, 1 May 2004 17:53 (twenty-one years ago)

Buy some clippers & do it yourself, or get Madchen to do it for you, Aly.

The C or K'k.

Ally C (Ally C), Saturday, 1 May 2004 19:50 (twenty-one years ago)

?and/or?

Michael Jones (MichaelJ), Saturday, 1 May 2004 23:07 (twenty-one years ago)

The C or K'k.

I have to hurt you now.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Sunday, 2 May 2004 02:03 (twenty-one years ago)

The C or K'k.

D'oh! I just got that, having been scratching my head about it for a while. Weirdo.

ailsa (ailsa), Sunday, 2 May 2004 08:59 (twenty-one years ago)

I forgot to congratulate Chris and Vicky here, so I will now! CONGRADULATIONS ON YOUR GRADUATION CHRIS & VICKERS!!

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Sunday, 2 May 2004 12:26 (twenty-one years ago)

Seem like a nice bunch.

I can't decide which ones to choose for my TEN FREE PRINTS.

You can also get POSTER-SIZE PRINTS.

Chris, this is the most glamourous thing ever done by somebody from Derbyshire ever. You've overtaken Len Ganley. The ILX Leicestershire/Derbyshire border massive salutes you.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Sunday, 2 May 2004 19:07 (twenty-one years ago)

two weeks pass...
ok, here are the photos my brother-in-law took, including a group ILX one! (fingers crossed the link works!)

awesome, thanks Mrs B!

stevem (blueski), Tuesday, 18 May 2004 09:12 (twenty-one years ago)

Lovely photos - makes me wish I'd stayed out of the pub pre-bus and followed C&V down to the lakeside with my camera. The pig ones are great - where did all that even near-daylight come from?

Michael Jones (MichaelJ), Tuesday, 18 May 2004 10:00 (twenty-one years ago)

photoshop mainly ;o)

chris (chris), Tuesday, 18 May 2004 10:01 (twenty-one years ago)

Wow, I had no idea you could do that. He must've had decentish originals to start with, though.

Michael Jones (MichaelJ), Tuesday, 18 May 2004 10:05 (twenty-one years ago)

Cool photos Vicky, you look so pretty!!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Tuesday, 18 May 2004 10:06 (twenty-one years ago)

yeah they were pretty good, but there were loads that were washed out reddish colours. The one of us with Times square in the background started out hella dark though and is pretty clear now

chris (chris), Tuesday, 18 May 2004 10:11 (twenty-one years ago)

Andy had two flash guns, they didn't work for most of the night (which dad noticed, but didn't do anything about, gah!) but the few that it did work on came out ok, which luckily, were mostly the pig photos.

Vicky (Vicky), Tuesday, 18 May 2004 10:16 (twenty-one years ago)

Great pictures, Vicky! Thanks for sharing them with ile.
