Is sex during your period unhealthy?

am carpenter, Wednesday, 9 April 2003 05:18 (twenty-two years ago)

only for the life of the unborn child you just killed with your "natural abortion"

jess (dubplatestyle), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 05:20 (twenty-two years ago)

untidy yes, unhealthy no

Horace Mann (Horace Mann), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 05:20 (twenty-two years ago)

bm*tish

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 05:20 (twenty-two years ago)

ban the blood!

jess (dubplatestyle), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 05:21 (twenty-two years ago)

Not for men, but there is an increased risk of infection (yeast, fungal) for her.

Ivor Biggun, Wednesday, 9 April 2003 07:48 (twenty-two years ago)

So I've been told, sex during menstruation can help reduce pain from cramps. Is this true?

nickalicious (nickalicious), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 12:52 (twenty-two years ago)

I think so. Cunnilingus during menstruation can produce a clown face.

Bryan (Bryan), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 12:55 (twenty-two years ago)

I think it's unhealthy for the soul.

Sarah McLusky (coco), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 12:57 (twenty-two years ago)

true or not, nick, every girlfriend I've had has claimed it as such.

hstencil, Wednesday, 9 April 2003 12:57 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm pretty sure it's having and orgasm during your period that stops the cramps, something to do with muscle spasms and the like. So actual sex & icky mess is unnecessary.

smee (smee), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 13:12 (twenty-two years ago)

smee=OTM. Making clown faces is funny but, as you can imagine, kinda gross.

Bryan (Bryan), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 13:16 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't think there's anything inherently unhealthy about. If the woman has a disease that is blood-borne, then it could possibly be transmited (esp. during cunnilingus).

I don't think unprotected intercourse or cunnilingus during menstruation are what would be considered low-risk sex.

There are other sources for more authoritative information on this though. I am just repeating what I think I have read elsewhere.

Rockist Scientist, Wednesday, 9 April 2003 13:18 (twenty-two years ago)

Is it really big, though, Mr. Biggun? Pics?

ChristineSH (chrissie1068), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 13:21 (twenty-two years ago)

You pull out and you got a red pencil....nasty.

Chris V. (Chris V), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 13:21 (twenty-two years ago)

Mmmmmmessy, very messy. Errr yes, relieves cramps though.

My, Christine is the saucy lady. This is good and funny.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 13:23 (twenty-two years ago)

smee = OTM. It's not the sex, it's the orgasm which allegedly reduces cramping. (I say allegedly because it makes my cramps WORSE.)

rosemary (rosemary), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 13:37 (twenty-two years ago)

I refer you to my phony e-mail address, Christine.

Ivor Biggun, Wednesday, 9 April 2003 13:43 (twenty-two years ago)

I'd e-mail you asking for pics, but I have this weird feeling the mail would bounce back to me.

I'm obviously having a psychic moment.

ChristineSH (chrissie1068), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 14:34 (twenty-two years ago)

Sex during period is very, very good! Gets rid of cramps, plenty of lubrication, and many women very, very horny at that time of the month.

Cunnilingus - depends how heavy the flow is. Clots are too gross to even think about. A bit of fresh, red blood isn't a problem for me though.

toraneko (toraneko), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 14:54 (twenty-two years ago)

Wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, anyway.

Bryan (Bryan), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 14:56 (twenty-two years ago)

It's fine. If you are worried about the mess just use those Instead cups that are excellent for having sex during your period. No blood in the vaginal canal at all.

Carey (Carey), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 15:08 (twenty-two years ago)

what is jess talking about?

Jerome, Wednesday, 9 April 2003 15:19 (twenty-two years ago)

Or, simply DON'T HAVE SEX AT ALL.

It works for me.

Well, it doesn't, but I'm pretending it does today.

ChristineSH (chrissie1068), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 15:19 (twenty-two years ago)

what about hemorrhoids during cornholing

dave q, Wednesday, 9 April 2003 15:22 (twenty-two years ago)

ILX has hit rock bottom.

Chris V. (Chris V), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 15:35 (twenty-two years ago)

I could always get worse. *contemplates replying to dave with "well, if the 'roids pop they'd act as a great lube" then decides against it*

Bryan (Bryan), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 15:42 (twenty-two years ago)

HA! I was supposed to be It! Freudian slip-mania runnin' wild!

Bryan (Bryan), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 15:44 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm sure there are still unfound depths to be explored.

ChristineSH (chrissie1068), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 17:00 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm sure there are still unfound depths to be explored.

But is it healthy to explore those depths during menstruation?

nickalicious (nickalicious), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 17:03 (twenty-two years ago)

Hell if I know. No one's interested in finding out how deep I am. Which is a shame. I figured out the meaning of life ages ago.

ChristineSH (chrissie1068), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 19:29 (twenty-two years ago)

Clots are too gross to even think about.

Thanks Toraneko, thanks.

In answer to original question: it depnds how much you care about your bedlinen/ carpet/ backseat of car (bingo?)

Anna (Anna), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 20:24 (twenty-two years ago)

That Girl (thatgirl), Thursday, 10 April 2003 05:41 (twenty-two years ago)

smee (smee), Thursday, 10 April 2003 11:35 (twenty-two years ago)

I agree with that modesty forbids stuff.

Sarah McLUsky (coco), Thursday, 10 April 2003 11:40 (twenty-two years ago)

Brown towels to the rescue.
