The menu from our canteen has just arrived in my inbox. What on earth is a roast eye fillet?!

The 'eye' with regard to meat just means it's a special tender juicy bit of steak - 'rib-eye' referring to a very specific cut. It's quite expensive, so either they're lavishing care and attention on yr tastebuds, or they're simply lying and will serve up a slab of boring cardboard steak.

back from lunch now!

I left the roast eye well alone. It looked as revolting as it sounded. I had chicken instead.

It wasn't really that expensive. Abt £2.50. They always sell what they call the Ambient Salad....I'm not sure abt the extent of Dr. Alex Patterson's involvement.

Ambient salad doesn't have any overt flavor, it's just supposed to blend in with your environment.
