Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Thursday, 10 April 2003 22:49 (twenty-two years ago)

i've probably fallen behind the sofa

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 10 April 2003 23:01 (twenty-two years ago)

Do you see lots of loose change, candy wrappers, and dustbunnies?

Mr. Diamond (diamond), Thursday, 10 April 2003 23:02 (twenty-two years ago)

actually this is supposed to be a serious attempt to ask people for career/general life advice but i can't seem to be able to expand on this right now

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 10 April 2003 23:12 (twenty-two years ago)

I've lost my wallet. But I know where I am - I have a gps in my handbag. Sorry this isn't serious career advice.

isadora (isadora), Thursday, 10 April 2003 23:13 (twenty-two years ago)

maybe i'm in El Segundo, with isadora's wallet?

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 10 April 2003 23:15 (twenty-two years ago)

If you go to fucking Thailand, you'll be certain to find yourself, apparently.

Matt (Matt), Friday, 11 April 2003 00:56 (twenty-two years ago)

You are at the centre of the universe.

gareth (gareth), Friday, 11 April 2003 14:01 (twenty-two years ago)

Lost should so be a UK indie club playing Adorable and such.

Mary (Mary), Friday, 11 April 2003 15:17 (twenty-two years ago)

Lost are a rubbish local band. They've even got "Lost" written on the side of their van. Which is yellow.

Matt (Matt), Friday, 11 April 2003 15:25 (twenty-two years ago)

i actually thought this thread was going to be about lost the promoters
my mates went over to london to see jeff mills the new years before last, but i haven't managed to get over to one of their parties yet
that's some line up gareth,if i didn't have exams coming up...

robin (robin), Friday, 11 April 2003 16:22 (twenty-two years ago)

I was just in El Segundo this morning and you weren't there, nor did I find isadora's wallet.

luna (luna.c), Friday, 11 April 2003 16:30 (twenty-two years ago)

If you don't know where you're going, any road will take you there.

j.lu (j.lu), Monday, 21 April 2003 02:06 (twenty-two years ago)

Lost was grand, a little messy. i am here posting this at 9am still drinking, so, you know...

juan atkins was good, all the djs were good, chunky type stuff, hard and ass-wiggy. it was a better night than thursday at bugged out for sure, though that was good too. nice atmosophere and relentless booming sound, atkins playing a lot tougher than he might normally have done. longest breakdown was like 5 seconds ha.

hah, there were these 4 indie dudes there, like strokes cast offs, and one of them was saying to C, "weve just been signed to EMI, remember our bands name, were going to be huge", and then, "so, im going to fuck you all night", hahaha, that got short shrift. they were doing liam gallagher swaggering by the dancefloor too, what a bunch of knobs!

gareth (gareth), Monday, 21 April 2003 07:17 (twenty-two years ago)

oh its approaching noon and i am still drinking. i ought to stop soon i guess

gareth (gareth), Monday, 21 April 2003 09:49 (twenty-two years ago)

no, keep goin' - dance for us too

stevem (blueski), Monday, 21 April 2003 10:50 (twenty-two years ago)

jel -- (jel), Monday, 21 April 2003 13:16 (twenty-two years ago)

and what was the venue like?

robin (robin), Monday, 21 April 2003 19:09 (twenty-two years ago)

Let's get lost, lost in each others arms
Let's get lost, let them send out alarms
And though they'll think we're rather rude
Let's tell the world we're in that crazy mood

Kenan Hebert (kenan), Monday, 21 April 2003 19:24 (twenty-two years ago)

ten months pass...
wow!

last nights Lost was one of the best sets ive seen in a long long time. it was everything that derrick carter last week wasn't, the venue was rammed, the atmosphere was electric, and the music was something else. kevin saunderson was playing quite a bit of good life type stuff, but really ramped up, like some of it was latiny or electroey or divaesque in places but totally getting the axis treatment.

but jeff mills, something else. maybe the best time i've seen him out. of course, he was doing exactly what he always does, but it was just packed with more stuff. amazing how music so severe and intense is packed with detail and feeling. strings of life got a spin, and a much harsher version of nights of the jaguar, and also the bells, but i didnt know anything else at all, there was one track with a schizoid 303 and then this one like bell sound, which as the track went on, kind of began to break down and corrode, it was really cleverly done. towards the end of the set he went more into these really long tracks, which was surprising, but they were totally mesmerizing. there was supposed to be some kind of tie in with a dvd, but this seemed to involve a screen with jeff stood in front of some decks. eventually this changed to 2001, which actually went pretty well

anyone know any of the tracks mills has been playing out recently?

and the great thing is, with it being on holloway road, when it finished, i could walk home while the others had to get a taxi. wanted to make sure i went straight home this time

Lost village set to disappear

N. (nickdastoor), Sunday, 29 February 2004 21:39 (twenty-one years ago)

Steve is pissed off at the subversion of his emo thread ;)

That sounded like a great night. I went to bed at midnight and woke up 13 hours later. I feel unfeasibly bouncy even at this late hour.
