Eluard. She made Dalí happy, he proceeded to make super-cheesy work ever after. I mean, there's a painting of her got up as the flipping Virgin Mary!!!!? Ho hum, at least it stopped him fantasising about sodomising his sister.

Dali used to say he was one with Gala and used to sign his paintings Gala Salvador Dali, which is where my AIM screen name comes from.

Gala gets massively dissed in Luis Bunuel's autobiography. He says (I paraphrase) she pulled an Ono on Dali, turning him into her own commercial pet monkey.
