Hi everyone. I'm new to this. Thought I'd introduce myself with a question. Who's got a significant other, and who doesn't? Just so we all know.

Fred Bleemer (freeblee), Monday, 14 April 2003 18:26 (twenty-two years ago)

Also: please include your address, telephone number and measurements.

mark p (Mark P), Monday, 14 April 2003 18:29 (twenty-two years ago)

not me! i don't! nope!

mitch lastnamewithheld (mitchlnw), Monday, 14 April 2003 18:30 (twenty-two years ago)

Indeed. I like mark p already.

Fred Bleemer (freeblee), Monday, 14 April 2003 18:30 (twenty-two years ago)

oh, and 23,32,24,12,4.

mitch lastnamewithheld (mitchlnw), Monday, 14 April 2003 18:30 (twenty-two years ago)

Females? Any females? I mean, sure, I'm interested in hearing about the girlfriends, too, but...

Fred Bleemer (freeblee), Monday, 14 April 2003 18:31 (twenty-two years ago)

Hubba hubba Mitch. (Call me.)

mark p (Mark P), Monday, 14 April 2003 18:33 (twenty-two years ago)

But, Fred, with those numbers mitch is such a catch, and you may win the lottery with them too.

Ed (dali), Monday, 14 April 2003 18:35 (twenty-two years ago)

Not me. No.

ali (ali), Monday, 14 April 2003 18:36 (twenty-two years ago)

Helllllo ladiez!!! Which ones of you is available??

Aaron W (Aaron W), Monday, 14 April 2003 18:37 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm beginning to think maybe there aren't any ladies here after all.

Fred Bleemer (freeblee), Monday, 14 April 2003 19:00 (twenty-two years ago)

Well hello there big boy! I've been waiting for a man like you to sweep me away into a magical land of romance where pigs wear pretty pink bows and every sentence ends with the phrase 'my love'. Now then, when shall we get down to some serious snoggin'?

a lady (Oops), Monday, 14 April 2003 19:06 (twenty-two years ago)

Calum is spoken abt, but not spoken for

Andrew L (Andrew L), Monday, 14 April 2003 19:10 (twenty-two years ago)

Actually, all the men on here are really ladies pretending to be fellas.

Including you. (Whether you know it or not.)

Marcel Post (Marcel Post), Monday, 14 April 2003 19:10 (twenty-two years ago)

Some of you may have me confused. I'm not trying to meet women. I just thought I'd ask a question to get to know you all a little better. Am I sounding creepy?

Fred Bleemer (freeblee), Monday, 14 April 2003 19:11 (twenty-two years ago)

Happily married since July of `01.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Monday, 14 April 2003 19:13 (twenty-two years ago)

no, but you just run into a group of people prepared to be obtuse to a fault

Ed (dali), Monday, 14 April 2003 19:13 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm married to Christ.

Ally (mlescaut), Monday, 14 April 2003 19:15 (twenty-two years ago)

Jesus is my bitch.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Monday, 14 April 2003 19:16 (twenty-two years ago)

Guys, this isn't the arranged marriages thread

oops (Oops), Monday, 14 April 2003 19:17 (twenty-two years ago)

Relax girls I'm Momus.

Momus (Momus), Monday, 14 April 2003 19:18 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm married to music. She's a lying cheating whore. But I still love her.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Monday, 14 April 2003 19:20 (twenty-two years ago)

Married since September 14, 2002.

Chris V. (Chris V), Monday, 14 April 2003 19:26 (twenty-two years ago)

I've got like two or three of them.

*Please don't get mad if you read this dear*

cprek (cprek), Monday, 14 April 2003 19:27 (twenty-two years ago)

Everything is significant to me, not just my Other.

C J (C J), Monday, 14 April 2003 19:27 (twenty-two years ago)

Heh heh. He called it his Other...huh huh.

Bryan (Bryan), Monday, 14 April 2003 19:32 (twenty-two years ago)

I would marry like half of ILX if not for the whole married to Christ thing. He's pretty demanding though.

Ally (mlescaut), Monday, 14 April 2003 19:33 (twenty-two years ago)

I have been single, off and on (i.e. some short-term girlfriends), for nearly two years, after the end of my 23 year marriage. I will be envious if this stratagem gets you together with any ILX woman, as I am in love with almost all of them. Ha, crossposting with Ally: I almost said the same thing, except for the Christ bit.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Monday, 14 April 2003 19:34 (twenty-two years ago)

no so.

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Monday, 14 April 2003 19:34 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm up for being a bride of Christ. He's a Nice Jewish Boy, right? My mother told me Jewish men make the best husbands.

rosemary (rosemary), Monday, 14 April 2003 19:38 (twenty-two years ago)

I've been single for the past 15 months. But I have my crushes to keep me company.

Jody Beth Rosen (Jody Beth Rosen), Monday, 14 April 2003 19:39 (twenty-two years ago)

All the ILX ladies like to remain mysteriously aloof and challenging (esp to newcomers who demand their vital statistics).

C J (C J), Monday, 14 April 2003 19:40 (twenty-two years ago)

I'mn shure you could let him know your lung capacity.

Ed (dali), Monday, 14 April 2003 19:42 (twenty-two years ago)

Hey, I'm totally an ORDAINED REVEREND now, any not-married-yet ILX couples who want to get hitched, GIVE ME A CALL!

I'm supposed to be marrying a couple friends of mine ONSTAGE this summer. What's even crazier is that they've asked me to RAP the ceremony. Wowwee Zowwee!

nickalicious (nickalicious), Monday, 14 April 2003 19:44 (twenty-two years ago)

I've got like two or three of them.

*Please don't get mad if you read this dear*

-- cprek (chri...), April 14th, 2003.

cprek, i bet you've only got one, and she's super hot and smart and funny and cool and you don't deserve her.

dear.

;)

one of three?, Monday, 14 April 2003 19:46 (twenty-two years ago)

i'm still waiting to be 'popped the question'.

mandee, Monday, 14 April 2003 19:50 (twenty-two years ago)

Come on now...No need to drag Christ into this.

Fred Bleemer (freeblee), Monday, 14 April 2003 19:58 (twenty-two years ago)

I am a dude with a girly name and I have a girlfriend I would like to marry one day.

Scaredy Cat, Monday, 14 April 2003 20:02 (twenty-two years ago)

I popped the question. Really badly. The answer was still "yes", luckily.

The question was "can Tom Waits top Rain Dogs?".

Oh, ok, it wasn't really.

Nordicskillz (Nordicskillz), Monday, 14 April 2003 20:04 (twenty-two years ago)

When I was in Catholic school the sisters were trying to steer me towards being a Bride of Christ, but when I found out he was absolutely unwilling to consider a polyandrous relationship I broke off with Him right quick.

j.lu (j.lu), Monday, 14 April 2003 20:07 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm single.

Sean (Sean), Monday, 14 April 2003 20:11 (twenty-two years ago)

If I grow my hair long again, maybe I can pass for this Christ chap...

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Monday, 14 April 2003 20:15 (twenty-two years ago)

I have a girlfriend.

RJG (RJG), Monday, 14 April 2003 20:17 (twenty-two years ago)

UNSTOPPABLE MENTAL IMAGE: Jesus Christ in leather chaps and nothing more.

oops (Oops), Monday, 14 April 2003 20:17 (twenty-two years ago)

I have the best girlfriend.

martin mushrush (mushrush), Monday, 14 April 2003 20:21 (twenty-two years ago)

Marcel Post (Marcel Post), Monday, 14 April 2003 20:22 (twenty-two years ago)

I used to get told I looked like Jesus! Really, several times! I've not seen any photos of Jesus, so I don't know if it's true. (This will be inconceivable for those who have only seen me in my current shaven (face and head) mode, but it's true. Now if only I can fool Ally...)

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Monday, 14 April 2003 20:28 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm married to my job and a couple of aging cats.

That Girl (thatgirl), Monday, 14 April 2003 20:41 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm Jesus

Millar (Millar), Monday, 14 April 2003 20:44 (twenty-two years ago)

(the black one)

Millar (Millar), Monday, 14 April 2003 20:44 (twenty-two years ago)

Nylon slacks.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Tuesday, 24 June 2003 08:59 (twenty-two years ago)

I've been single for about two years. I miss hugs sometimes. The last date I went on was about a year ago. She had too many Gary Moore CDs in her collection for my liking and she read the Daily Express. Ugh.

Alfie (Alfie), Tuesday, 24 June 2003 09:01 (twenty-two years ago)

You went on a date with my mum?!

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Tuesday, 24 June 2003 09:03 (twenty-two years ago)

heh, you're leaving yourself open to attack there nick. im tempted but i wont jump on it. the statement i mean, not your mum.

Bob Shaw (Bob Shaw), Tuesday, 24 June 2003 09:04 (twenty-two years ago)

Maybe, does your mum have an Elvis Monopoly set?

Alfie (Alfie), Tuesday, 24 June 2003 09:09 (twenty-two years ago)

Not anymore.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Tuesday, 24 June 2003 09:10 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm sure we can fix that.

Alfie (Alfie), Tuesday, 24 June 2003 09:13 (twenty-two years ago)

Single still, prolly because I've too much mouth, and am too smart for most males' own good.

Nichole Graham (Nichole Graham), Tuesday, 24 June 2003 22:43 (twenty-two years ago)

That's bound to be it.

Tep (ktepi), Tuesday, 24 June 2003 22:46 (twenty-two years ago)

or not

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Tuesday, 24 June 2003 22:47 (twenty-two years ago)

Shhh.

Tep (ktepi), Tuesday, 24 June 2003 22:48 (twenty-two years ago)

On an unrelated note, I'm not single, probably because I have an enormous cock and a fast car.

Tep (ktepi), Tuesday, 24 June 2003 22:49 (twenty-two years ago)

i have an average cock and an average car. i'm not single but i'd prefer to be.

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Tuesday, 24 June 2003 22:50 (twenty-two years ago)

On an unrelated note, I'm not single, probably because I have an enormous cock and a fast car.

And those who say so are prolly living the opposite.

Nichole Graham (Nichole Graham), Tuesday, 24 June 2003 23:27 (twenty-two years ago)

I have an enormous cock too!

Ally (mlescaut), Wednesday, 25 June 2003 01:29 (twenty-two years ago)

Single and probably well on my way to being a full-time anti-social crank. Except my Unabomber shack would have a fabulous kitchen and all the internet bandwidth I can accumulate.

Ha!

So you think! I have been designing my dream Unabomber shack for years - bandwidth and awesome kitchen and mega-bookshelves! (Actually, the damn thing is evolving into one of those Thomas Kinkaide-esque cottages - not bad, but I want more windows in my hut.)

I have an enormous cock too!

Ya know, there just isn't much to say after reading this.

I'm Passing Open Windows (Ms Laura), Wednesday, 25 June 2003 02:21 (twenty-two years ago)

Laura, I see your dream Kinkade Unabomber shack and raise you with Silo Home!

This is totally my dream house.

Chris Barrus (Chris Barrus), Wednesday, 25 June 2003 02:26 (twenty-two years ago)

Well, I have enormous boobs. But obviously nobody likes them.

Tha Threadkilla Was Here (j.lu), Wednesday, 25 June 2003 02:29 (twenty-two years ago)

Um, I think I must fold, Chris - I'll go back to my little log cabin and plant violets and hyacinth and blue bells and lupine and lavendar.

You can come visit and help me gut fish and stuff.

I'm Passing Open Windows (Ms Laura), Wednesday, 25 June 2003 02:29 (twenty-two years ago)

Well, I have enormous boobs. But obviously nobody likes them.

Maybe they need to learn some basic social skills?

I'm Passing Open Windows (Ms Laura), Wednesday, 25 June 2003 02:30 (twenty-two years ago)

Single. As of a week ago. It's weird.

Sterling Clover (s_clover), Wednesday, 25 June 2003 05:02 (twenty-two years ago)

As single as single can be. Dammit.

luna (luna.c), Thursday, 3 July 2003 16:51 (twenty-two years ago)

9 days and counting

JasonD (JasonD), Thursday, 3 July 2003 17:18 (twenty-two years ago)

Advice on getting married, per my own experience:

1 - Remember to breathe - no one wants to see the happy couple turning blue and falling over.

2 - Eat something at the reception or you'll feel like shit by the end of the night

3 - Shit will go wrong, grin and bear it - there are worse things, and this IS supposed to be the happiest day of your life so far.

4 - Ignore the in-laws as best you can; and

5 - Do not drink a lot of beer before the ceremony if you are getting married in front of a fountain and there is a chance you may get stuck waiting for your bride because her maid of honor is breastfeeding her baby. (Really, ask my ex-husband).

Otherwise, mazel tov!

luna (luna.c), Thursday, 3 July 2003 17:44 (twenty-two years ago)

four months pass...
There is a very funny series of posts at the beginning of this thread.

Allyzay, Wednesday, 26 November 2003 04:30 (twenty-two years ago)

I am. SO. FUXORING. SINGLE.

I have about 7 crushes at the moment but I think this is me conspiring against myself.

Ronan (Ronan), Wednesday, 3 December 2003 23:31 (twenty-two years ago)

I kind of wish I was still posessed by Lionel Richie. Alas, the exhuberant spirit of Lionel has left the building.

El Diablo Robotico (Nicole), Wednesday, 3 December 2003 23:35 (twenty-two years ago)

aw just act on those crushes, ro! you're total hottness!

geeta (geeta), Thursday, 4 December 2003 00:08 (twenty-two years ago)

well, don't act on all seven of them (haha unless you wanna be a total heartbreaker with the laydeez) -- but choose one and go for it!

geeta (geeta), Thursday, 4 December 2003 00:19 (twenty-two years ago)

I kind of wish I was still posessed by Lionel Richie.

This is obviously the best solution.

Ronan (Ronan), Thursday, 4 December 2003 10:54 (twenty-two years ago)

Outrageous!

I think I'm in a boat somewhat similar Ronan's; I've got crushes on like 5 people right now, although I don't think it's me conspiring against myself so much as a crushing-on-people-who-don't-crush-on-me thing. And that's ok.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Thursday, 4 December 2003 14:17 (twenty-two years ago)

still married despite calling my wife "round head" this morning.

Chris B. Sure (Chris V), Thursday, 4 December 2003 14:19 (twenty-two years ago)

Five years, Baby!

Sarah McLusky (coco), Thursday, 4 December 2003 14:29 (twenty-two years ago)

If my boyfriend called me "round head" I'd smack him, even if it is true.

Allyzay, Thursday, 4 December 2003 14:36 (twenty-two years ago)

she gets all swollen in the morning. she told me i was mean.

Chris B. Sure (Chris V), Thursday, 4 December 2003 14:40 (twenty-two years ago)

Still with HSA. Coming up on 9 months now. If we make it through Christmas, this will be the longest running relationship I've ever had. That kinda scares me.

Citizen Kate (kate), Thursday, 4 December 2003 14:40 (twenty-two years ago)

why does it scare you Kate?

Chris B. Sure (Chris V), Thursday, 4 December 2003 14:41 (twenty-two years ago)

That is mean, though.

I think I kind of know what Kate means. It is a bit weird to have been in a relationship this long (almost 4 years now), I'm used to them not working out.

El Diablo Robotico (Nicole), Thursday, 4 December 2003 14:44 (twenty-two years ago)

i know its mean. i felt bad afterwards, but i was mad because I had to sleep on the couch because she was snoring so loud. i got 4 hours of sleep.

Chris B. Sure (Chris V), Thursday, 4 December 2003 14:45 (twenty-two years ago)

Most of my relationships peter out about the three month mark, for reasons I can never quite figure out. The only other one that didn't, was with a borderline psychotic abusive asshole, and after nine months I was, quite frankly, a complete mess. I'm scared cause I'm *still* waiting for the other shoe to drop, in a manner of speaking. Not that I think HSA is suddenly going to to turn into an abusive psycho, but it's more... I keep waiting for the catch.

I mean, we've been in the relationship long enough that our guards are down and we're acting naturally and being ourselves and all that. But I'm kinda terrified that it's just all going to fall apart at any moment.

Citizen Kate (kate), Thursday, 4 December 2003 14:48 (twenty-two years ago)

single for almost seven months after a 2 year long relationship (which had been my longest, BTW). What's really sad is I had to look at my post upthread to work out how long I'd been single!

MarkH (MarkH), Thursday, 4 December 2003 14:49 (twenty-two years ago)

not been in a proper relationship for almost 10 years now, almost *almost* had one a few months ago but it just didn't happen.

Ste (Fuzzy), Thursday, 4 December 2003 15:00 (twenty-two years ago)

Kate, It took me a long time to not be scared. I eventually realized that I was wasting precious time being worried about when and how the relationship would end and that I should just enjoy it while it's good. If you have a falling out, there will be reason. Relationships and feelings change. You can try to work it out or not, but that's not happening now, so why fret about it? You should take each day as it comes and enjoy the good times. Even if it ends someday, you will have these good memories.

I don't mean to sound preachy, that's just something I had a big problem with in the past.

Sarah McLusky (coco), Thursday, 4 December 2003 15:36 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm very single, but still have a crush on my ex-bf (and lots of other people)

caitlin (caitlin), Thursday, 4 December 2003 16:24 (twenty-two years ago)

The Bloke and I have been together for so many years now that I don't think I can even remember anyone else before him.

He's a good man :)

C J (C J), Thursday, 4 December 2003 16:27 (twenty-two years ago)

I sometimes read the word "crush" literally, giving wonderful mental images of crushers dogpiling willy-nilly on crushees, only THE CURESHEES NEVER NOTICE.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Thursday, 4 December 2003 16:32 (twenty-two years ago)

WOAH how did that happen???

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Thursday, 4 December 2003 16:32 (twenty-two years ago)

http://www.laganzua.net/discos/discos4/imagenes/thecure.jpg

bnw (bnw), Thursday, 4 December 2003 16:38 (twenty-two years ago)

kate, i don't know you or HSA very well, but you both seem like really lovely people...and not knowing your relationship history, i just kind of assumed you were one of those couples that has been together 'for ever' (or at least for ages) because you just seem nice and happy together.

i'm spoken for, although that seems like a weird way of putting it. i've got a boy. and from the FAP thread (or the FAP itself) you may have already heard that he is a giant. yay!

colette (a2lette), Thursday, 4 December 2003 16:43 (twenty-two years ago)

My crush count is at three, roughly.

Sterling Clover (s_clover), Thursday, 4 December 2003 18:38 (twenty-two years ago)
