You have to escape from the law. What's the car? Whats on the stereo?

(clearly this is ed's way of getting ile to talk about bluegrass and associated banjo music)

Ed (dali), Monday, 14 April 2003 18:37 (twenty-two years ago)

A Porsche, and the Stanley Brothers' Early 78s CD on Revenant.

hstencil, Monday, 14 April 2003 18:39 (twenty-two years ago)

chitty chitty bang bang + carcass.

jones (actual), Monday, 14 April 2003 18:41 (twenty-two years ago)

This is the car, and there's wacky clarinet music playing.

Jody Beth Rosen (Jody Beth Rosen), Monday, 14 April 2003 18:42 (twenty-two years ago)

A stolen taxi. All along the watchtower .

Nordicskillz (Nordicskillz), Monday, 14 April 2003 18:42 (twenty-two years ago)

shoulda been more specific:

hstencil, Monday, 14 April 2003 18:46 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm dissapointed, that porsche is watercooled.

Ed (dali), Monday, 14 April 2003 18:47 (twenty-two years ago)

At first I thought you wrote "that porsche is a watercooler."

hstencil, Monday, 14 April 2003 18:51 (twenty-two years ago)

car = boat
stereo = playing "Funky Kingston"

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Monday, 14 April 2003 18:56 (twenty-two years ago)

http://www.67mustangfastback.com/photos/Fastback-Right.jpg playing 'They Don't Know' by Tracy Ullman.

Sterling Clover (s_clover), Monday, 14 April 2003 19:08 (twenty-two years ago)

http://www.lambomiura.com/original.jpgorhttp://www.carsfromitaly.com/lancia/stratosz1_200.jpg no idea bout the music, but I've only been listening to bluegrass since last night.

Ed (dali), Monday, 14 April 2003 19:09 (twenty-two years ago)

As demonstrated in the show where Grandpa Simpson has a top aphrodisiac formula, playing bluegrass-style chase music just makes people chase you.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Monday, 14 April 2003 19:30 (twenty-two years ago)

http://www.mustang5.freeserve.co.uk/bullitt%20frnt.jpg
Can't go wrong with a 1968 Fastback Mustang playing Vaselines "Son of a Gun"

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Monday, 14 April 2003 19:41 (twenty-two years ago)

I would be driving the Compact Pussycat :

http://www.dfcom.freeserve.co.uk/hbw/images/peno.gif

And on the stereo would be:

C J (C J), Monday, 14 April 2003 19:50 (twenty-two years ago)

http://www.sunmaster.co.uk/images/italian_job.gif
...with the original Quincy Jones soundtrack.

(I can't decide if a remake is a good idea... but the cast is sort of interesting:

Mark Wahlberg
Edward Norton
Charlize Theron
Donald Sutherland
Mos Def
Seth Green)

Aaron W (Aaron W), Monday, 14 April 2003 20:04 (twenty-two years ago)

If they break another miura then the remake will be a very bad idea.

Ed (dali), Monday, 14 April 2003 20:13 (twenty-two years ago)

All you americans and your mustangs will be introuble if we have to getaway round corners.

Ed (dali), Monday, 14 April 2003 20:14 (twenty-two years ago)

There are no corners in America. Only highways, straight gorgeous highways.

oops (Oops), Monday, 14 April 2003 20:16 (twenty-two years ago)

The car:

The soundtrack:
http://64.95.118.51/images/opti/8f/cb/210436-resized200.jpg
Specifically, "Going to Town"

j.lu (j.lu), Monday, 14 April 2003 20:22 (twenty-two years ago)

I would drive this:

http://www.bm3w.co.uk/gallery/press/e60/title.jpg

And play this:

http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B00004YC1W.01._PE7_SCMZZZZZZZ_.jpg

Both of which would be good for a good cross country trip, no matter what the reason for said cross country trip might be. Of course, I'd rather it be out of choice than out of necessity, but that wouldn't be in sync with this thread's scenario.

Dee the Lurker (Dee the Lurker), Monday, 14 April 2003 20:26 (twenty-two years ago)

Clearly the answer is

a yellow Matchbox Fiat

j0e (j0e), Monday, 14 April 2003 21:32 (twenty-two years ago)

brg30 (brg30), Monday, 14 April 2003 22:18 (twenty-two years ago)

If they break another miura then the remake will be a very bad idea.

They didn't. The Miura they destroyed was a phony (watch closely when they dump it off the cliff and you'll notice no engine). They DID trash the XKEs and the DB4, but they restored them afterwards.

Now it's my turn, baby. Getting away from shotgun-toting biker thugs:

Who cares, its a singular Canadian posting all the rustangs.

Well, I can't find a picture of an old Brooklyn I did find http://www.carelesstalkcostslives.com/playlists.asp by searching for "broklyn car hamilton" which was pretty surprising.
