Fake ID Question

is it better to have your real name or a fake name on a fake ID. i mean "better" as in what are the pros and cons for each, i know getting caught with a fake in your name is less punishment but what about when they confiscate your ID, then if you have your real name on it can't they track you down?

Otis Wheeler to thread. His real licence was revoked for like two years because of this. He put his real name on the ID, and it got confiscated, and apparently Boston cops have nothing to do besides SEARCH THE UNITED STATES for the perpetrators.

Yeah, definitely don't use your first name. If you can think of a pseudonym that's plausibly similar to your real name, that can help -- just so long as you can come up with a casual explanation for why the name on your other ID would be different. (This trick probably works better if you have a foreign name, cause you can put on an accent and go "in Soviet Union everyone have six names at least." I'm guessing my fake is filed neatly in some vast evidence warehouse west of the Mississippi.)

Oops, sorry, "first name" = "real name."

Also please note that I completely renounce and condemn the use of false identification in the perpetration of underage-drinking crimes. It's an assault not only on the nation's sensible alcohol control laws but also an assault on the very authority of the state's identification processes. Also I'm sure it aids terrorists in some form or another.

....Otis?

If your real name is Seymour Butts, though, you should totally use it, cause no one would believe you.

And naturally I only condone the use of fake ID for the purposes of purchasing communion wine for poor needy churches. Churches that fight terrorism. With God.

Alternatively you could move to the UK, a country with sensible licensing laws that are sensibly ignored.

The one and only time I used a fake ID, the guy lectured us on the evils of underage drinking, told me how much trouble he could get in if he was caught selling to us, then handed over our Thunderbird and wished us a good evening. It was a Yacht Club ID.

The poor yoof of today doesn't have the luxury of photoless driving licences like what I grew up with (which were easily lendable to younger siblings).

Younger siblings of the same sex, natch.

just use your first name and a fake second name.

it used to be such a pain trying to remember the date on fake ids.

OT: in a class of mine there was a girl who insisted on calling the id (as in Freud) the i.d. "well that's a lot like Freud's i.d." as if she had checked the viennese dmv archives or something. I think she ended up graduating honors.

Put a porno name on it. Michael J. Cox

If you live in an area where they still issue laminate drivers licenses not the credit card style, you can pull some shit......get a wonton steamer, wrap the card in a paper towel, steam it, slit and split the laminate and peel off the area in which your D O B is situated, print out on tracing paper in correct font your "new" D O B, slide that little sliver of paper in, re-steam a little bit, seal and put into a book, voila.

Sup dudes.
