genocide

DG (D_To_The_G), Wednesday, 16 April 2003 12:44 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm having a BBQ. All my friends are going to come over and try and steal my CDs.

Nordicskillz (Nordicskillz), Wednesday, 16 April 2003 12:44 (twenty-two years ago)

I usually sit at home with the curtains drawn, thinking evil thoughts with my eyes slitted and lips pursed

but seeing as though it's going to be warm I might do this in the garden

j0e (j0e), Wednesday, 16 April 2003 12:45 (twenty-two years ago)

Handsome SoundArtist was talking about going to Imber on Sunday, I think. I would really like to see Imber. Abandonned ghost villages that have been illigitimately bombed to f@ck by the British army = WAY COOL!

kate, Wednesday, 16 April 2003 12:45 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm seriously considering going camping, in Scotland, in April - bizarre!

smee (smee), Wednesday, 16 April 2003 12:46 (twenty-two years ago)

Some sex would be good too, come to think of it (without friends around, obv).

Nordicskillz (Nordicskillz), Wednesday, 16 April 2003 12:46 (twenty-two years ago)

I am going to sack off my dissertaion, which I'm blocked on anyway and go and play in the sun. 4 day weekend Mid to high 20s Am I going to miss out, fuck that.

Ed (dali), Wednesday, 16 April 2003 12:46 (twenty-two years ago)

i want to organise an ILX football match...but maybe thats a month or two down the line

still, a good kickabout is urgent and thingy

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 16 April 2003 12:48 (twenty-two years ago)

Probably just rename my genitals.

Skottie, Wednesday, 16 April 2003 12:48 (twenty-two years ago)

and relabel?

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Wednesday, 16 April 2003 12:50 (twenty-two years ago)

Yup. This time I'm using duct tape. The velcro just wasn't reliable.

Skottie, Wednesday, 16 April 2003 12:52 (twenty-two years ago)

Stevem, I'm the best crap footballer in town.

Nordicskillz (Nordicskillz), Wednesday, 16 April 2003 12:52 (twenty-two years ago)

I think you should name them Thing 1, Thing 2, and The Cat in the Hat, respectively.

Kenan Hebert (kenan), Wednesday, 16 April 2003 12:54 (twenty-two years ago)

do i hear the sound of a plummeting gauntlet?

james (james), Wednesday, 16 April 2003 12:55 (twenty-two years ago)

it was sunny today and i hated it cos it hurt my poor unslept eyes.

di smith (lucylurex), Wednesday, 16 April 2003 12:56 (twenty-two years ago)

no I believe what you heard was Thing 1 plummeting.

Skottie, Wednesday, 16 April 2003 12:56 (twenty-two years ago)

lots of videotaping, basketball, and i met these (platonic) Catholic high girls that happen to be the very embodiment of evil......they listen to Slipknot and enjoy jumping while sketching bigtime into those "springy bushes" that bounce you back into the grass .....they got cuts all over their arms and knees......utter gong shows; i shall try to obtain footage that I assume Ned will like.......

Ramosi, Wednesday, 16 April 2003 12:57 (twenty-two years ago)

I fucking hate oppressively hot weather and dazzling sun. The Summer can go to hell for me.

ChristineSH (chrissie1068), Wednesday, 16 April 2003 12:57 (twenty-two years ago)

bloody hell james, do you have children or something?

I've got such a cool w/e planned that I wanted to post, but i got beaten to it, so just have a look at this post for my w/e! stevem - no kids, hence the cool w/e!! :-)

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Wednesday, 16 April 2003 13:04 (twenty-two years ago)

No gauntlets, just pre-empting any possible non-display of footballing Skillz.

Nordicskillz (Nordicskillz), Wednesday, 16 April 2003 13:07 (twenty-two years ago)

Its monsoon season in Worcester mass. Its supposed to rain for like the next two weeks. Yesterday it was 80, I got home sat on my porch and drank beer, grilled a tuna steak and took my shirt off.

Chris V. (Chris V), Wednesday, 16 April 2003 13:10 (twenty-two years ago)

aaargh, i dont know. i have about 4 different things, and i havent planned any of them due to being too busy, and now i have to decide tomorrow really, and then other things are up in the air at moment, and i need to sort things out really

gareth (gareth), Wednesday, 16 April 2003 13:22 (twenty-two years ago)

It's going to merge into a happy haze of beer and sunshine, I told you.

Actually, I was going to start a thread just like this, having just taken a "cheeky" hour and a half lunch break to sit in Green Park. I have nothing planned but a million sort-of-might-happen things on... these involve lying around in the sun in Greenwich, drinks with Ronan and Steve, different drinks with an old friend back in London, going home to be civilised and given food and chocolate and trying to find somewhere to live. If I actually manage all this I will be very impressed.

Oh, and am I the only person who keeps forgetting we have MONDAY off as well? Yay!

I am the worst footballer ever and will therefore pass on an ILX kickabout.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 16 April 2003 13:30 (twenty-two years ago)

stevem - my life is based around seeking pleasure in mildly sanitised ways therefore the tussauds co. are my friends - ooooh restrained safe fun

james (james), Wednesday, 16 April 2003 13:33 (twenty-two years ago)

ILX Kickabout if it happens I would DEFINITELY be in. Saturday is the only day that suits though!

Ronan (Ronan), Wednesday, 16 April 2003 13:34 (twenty-two years ago)

James, your weekend sounds like the bestest weekend ever.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 16 April 2003 13:35 (twenty-two years ago)

im abit giggly this afternoon as it should be cool, the thing is i'll check my bank balance on wednesday and feint and then turn to the credit cards to bring me to the end of the month - hurray for credit

james (james), Wednesday, 16 April 2003 13:38 (twenty-two years ago)

i shall try to obtain footage that I assume Ned will like......

I fear for my reputation. ;-)

This weekend -- again help out in the friends' gardens, it's a fine way to spend a Saturday morning. Then probably some sort of get-together with others the following day, but that's still in the works.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 16 April 2003 13:42 (twenty-two years ago)

i'm going to the dogs

pete b. (pete b.), Wednesday, 16 April 2003 13:42 (twenty-two years ago)

And then again this thread title just makes me think of that great line in the movie version of White Mischief when near the end one of the bored expats stands out on the verandah of a stunningly beautiful Kenyan estate house and sees the sun rising up like a dream and says...

"Oh god. Another fucking WONDERFUL day."

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 16 April 2003 13:43 (twenty-two years ago)

So you are finally excited about the w/e eh james?

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Wednesday, 16 April 2003 13:47 (twenty-two years ago)

Ned when my mother was in Hawaii she saw a T-shirt - "Another shitty day in Paradise"

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Wednesday, 16 April 2003 14:00 (twenty-two years ago)

Heh.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 16 April 2003 14:12 (twenty-two years ago)

its actually a Lambchop song Ned

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 16 April 2003 14:25 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't doubt it stevem but my mom went to Hawaii in approx 1982 so it is actually a shirt!

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Wednesday, 16 April 2003 14:26 (twenty-two years ago)

also i absolutely agree that james has the best weekend ever planned...assuming he has friends or s.o. in tow, enough cash to spend etc. - try and integrate some degree of messing about in a boat if you can too

and Matt, with me and Nordicskillz on board there's no excuses for not joining in the embarassing kickaround - we're all as crap at the game as we are enthusiastic about it generally

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 16 April 2003 14:29 (twenty-two years ago)

ahem! I also agree that james' w/e is top because it's my w/e too!!!!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Wednesday, 16 April 2003 14:31 (twenty-two years ago)

haha could you imagine that weekend on your own.

james (james), Wednesday, 16 April 2003 14:32 (twenty-two years ago)

it would still be pretty dam cool!

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 16 April 2003 14:33 (twenty-two years ago)

a rematch against sinister is definetely U & K! or kickabout! and yep, I'm crap at footie too!

This weekend, hmmm, I dunno, might go bowling.

jel -- (jel), Wednesday, 16 April 2003 14:37 (twenty-two years ago)

there should be outdoor ten-pin bowling, not that crown green shit

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 16 April 2003 14:38 (twenty-two years ago)

yeah, urban bowling! Erik to thread!

jel -- (jel), Wednesday, 16 April 2003 14:48 (twenty-two years ago)

now more than ever i also wish i was a sk8r boi...

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 16 April 2003 14:53 (twenty-two years ago)

yeah, me too! But I think I'm probably about 14 years too old to be a sk8er boi, though I did see some trendy 30somethings with prestine skateboards on their back packs on Oxford Street, I knew they were fk8ers.

jel -- (jel), Wednesday, 16 April 2003 14:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Right kids, I'm off for the best w/e evah! chessington, alton towers, footie, coast, new bike. YAY!!! have a nice easter everyone. Make mine a red wine....

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Wednesday, 16 April 2003 15:09 (twenty-two years ago)

yep me too i'll report back on wednesday

incidentally i have a pristrine skateboard - bought it off a mate on a whim and then realised i have a very healthy general fear of pain so i do not skate but i wish i could

james (james), Wednesday, 16 April 2003 15:32 (twenty-two years ago)

It's 80 today in NYC but it's supposed to take a turn for the worse and be 50 and rainy over the next couple of days and the weekend. So my fall back position: shop for tennis themed clothes that can be worn when summer arrives. Don't let it pass you by!

Mary (Mary), Wednesday, 16 April 2003 15:43 (twenty-two years ago)

I can work on getting the Sinister massive together for the footie rematch, if you like. When do we fancy it?

Mark C (Mark C), Wednesday, 16 April 2003 16:42 (twenty-two years ago)

I fucking hate oppressively hot weather and dazzling sun. The Summer can go to hell for me.

motion seconded

Snowy Mann (rdmanston), Wednesday, 16 April 2003 17:07 (twenty-two years ago)

aarrrggh - i'm melting! i'm melting!

Snowy Mann (rdmanston), Wednesday, 16 April 2003 17:07 (twenty-two years ago)

I can work on getting the Sinister massive together for the footie rematch, if you like. When do we fancy it?

any Saturday or Sunday in the next 8 weeks is good for me so i'm quite flexible...Sundays probably better tho - would suggest in about a month's time - venue - Hyde Park??

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 16 April 2003 17:11 (twenty-two years ago)

Not much in the way of definite plans, though I am visiting the in-laws for a little while on Sunday. My one goal is to get out there and enjoy the beautiful weather!

Nicole (Nicole), Wednesday, 16 April 2003 17:16 (twenty-two years ago)

well what would have been a 4-day weekend has been reduced to three due to past ice storms. not bad still.

my only plans are to have my stepdad help me with my brakes and then to have Easter dinner at El Mercado restaurant with my grandparents, et. al.

I'm sure there will be drinking and there and some work too.

That Girl (thatgirl), Wednesday, 16 April 2003 17:25 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't get any time off for Easter or spring break or what-have-you. Who has time for the Easter Bunny when Real Estate is hoppin'? Blah. It's 85 degrees outside. Why am I in a freezing cold office? And why do I get lectured so much by my boss?

This weekend I'm playing a show Friday night and maybe seeing my sister's Freedom bf one last time before he heads back to Paris. Saturday I plan to laze around and eat bon-bons. Or maybe it will be too hot for bon-bons? Ice cream then. Saturday night I'll either be recording a David Bowie cover with x 10 or going to a Wendy & Carl show at my alma mater. Or neither. Or both. Sunday I might have Lookups practice. Or I might not.

Sarah McLusky (coco), Wednesday, 16 April 2003 17:32 (twenty-two years ago)

I have to do some shopping tomorrow, but after that I may not leave the house again until Tuesday (I get Thursday and Tuesday off work too, hooray!), when I have a date. I would normally be easily lured out by the chance of football, but at the moment my usually abysmal level of fitness is way below par due to a chesty cough and bunged up nose. I am an elderly person with bad asthma, but I was a goodish footballer in my day (goodish=school team, not pro trials). I'll hardly be forcing my way into an ILX team, but if we're short...

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Wednesday, 16 April 2003 22:45 (twenty-two years ago)

good luck for your show sarah! me and duane are playing one on saturday night too!

di smith (lucylurex), Wednesday, 16 April 2003 22:47 (twenty-two years ago)

two years pass...
Today it's going to be *85* and *SUNNY*, wheeee! So I had to resurrect this thread... unfortunately the bulk of it is going to be stuck indoors but hopefully this evening will be spent on rollerblades. Now that my dog is almost 6, I'm trying to get him used to being "walked" while I'm on rollerblades. Cue scenes of doggie attacking my feet...

Is it summery elsewhere in ILXland?

lyra (lyra), Thursday, 26 May 2005 14:47 (twenty years ago)

wow, it's only supposed to get to 80 today. Monday it was 98.

Miss Misery (thatgirl), Thursday, 26 May 2005 14:56 (twenty years ago)

Oh, it's summer all right. 85, b!tches. The lilac trees are BLOWING UP.

giboyeux (skowly), Thursday, 26 May 2005 15:05 (twenty years ago)

mmmm lilacs. and KEXP just played Stone Roses, nice summery music.

lyra (lyra), Thursday, 26 May 2005 15:37 (twenty years ago)

Too hot today; hotter tomorrow. God I'm a joyless sweaty mess when the temperature gets about 23 degrees.

Markelby (Mark C), Thursday, 26 May 2005 15:40 (twenty years ago)

But rainy and cool by Saturday! :)

jel -- (jel), Thursday, 26 May 2005 15:41 (twenty years ago)

Pleasantly warm by the seaside. Preparing my garden for the arrival of NEW SHED! And shouting at the dogs who are chasing a bluebottle around the kitchen and smashing everything in sight.

accentmonkey (accentmonkey), Thursday, 26 May 2005 15:42 (twenty years ago)

phew what a scorcher etc.

must get out there today. this is a stupid time for my new PC to have arrived - I have to copy all the files over from my old one which will take much time, then find a copy of Windows XP, tho that's a good enough reason to get me out of the house at least.

Sociah T Azzahole (blueski), Friday, 27 May 2005 08:24 (twenty years ago)

Very pleasant in London's busy NW3 district at present. After work I am decanting to Yorkshire for a weekend of healthy hillwalking where no doubt it will piss down and be 4 degrees throughout, oh well, Oh the wan-der-lust-is-on-me etc. etc.

Marcello Carlin (nostudium), Friday, 27 May 2005 08:30 (twenty years ago)

Going to be 90 or so today. Rollerblading last night was wonderful- doggie was very cool with the sudden appearance of wheels on my feet, and even pretty much pulled me across the flat stretches. We went to Myrtle Edwards park as the sun was setting, and it was beyond gorgeous- sailboats and ferries out in the water, the Olympics and Mt Rainier were out and turned purple when the sun started going down, and the park was fairly quiet for how nice it was out. I can't believe there's someplace so beautiful like that just blocks from my apartment. I'm so spoiled.

lyra (lyra), Friday, 27 May 2005 14:01 (twenty years ago)

ahhh lovely, just got back from sitting by a lake since about quarter to seven, nicely browned and happily tired, may sit out in the garden for a bit later
