IMPROMPTU NYC MINIFAP

Okay so I gave myself a four day weekend 'cause I'm 25 all of a sudden and my bud here Nick suggested travelling to NYC offhand, and I said 'hey dude, a day trip to NYC sounds punkariffic' and then Nick said 'problem is if we go to NYC I'll wanna get drunk' and I was all 'Word' and then I was all 'I wonder if I can score us a place to crash' and then I thought 'SUPER AWESOME' and realized this might be a fine opportunity for a miniNYCFAP if anybody is down to host a pair of clean-cut young servicemen on their floor/sofa for a night (tomorrow most likely). We promise to get hammered and make breakfast and only smoke outdoors.

Millar (Millar), Wednesday, 16 April 2003 18:50 (twenty-two years ago)

Tomorrow night Ian Williams's new band Battles is playing at Galapagos in Williamsburg. You interested, Millar?

hstencil, Wednesday, 16 April 2003 18:53 (twenty-two years ago)

lemme spell this out:

Battles =

Ian Williams (ex-Don Caballero, ex-stormandstress)
Tyondai Braxton
John Stanier (Tomahawk, ex-Helmet)
Dave Konopka (Lynx)

Galapagos = okay but kinda goofy bar in Williamsburg. Bands are in the back room, so if people didn't wanna see 'em, they wouldn't have to pay to get in.

Don't know about hosting ya at my house, I'd have to speak with the roomies, but it's possible, we got lots of room. And I've got Friday off.

hstencil, Wednesday, 16 April 2003 19:03 (twenty-two years ago)

I think we only care about getting drunk.

Maybe Friday is a better option.

Millar (Millar), Wednesday, 16 April 2003 19:04 (twenty-two years ago)

we'll, if I feel better, I'll be getting drunk both at that show and a private birthday party, and I could only invite ILXors to one...

Friday I may have a date.

hstencil, Wednesday, 16 April 2003 19:08 (twenty-two years ago)

:-D

gygax! (gygax!), Wednesday, 16 April 2003 19:13 (twenty-two years ago)

it's not with you, gygax! :_ (

hstencil, Wednesday, 16 April 2003 19:20 (twenty-two years ago)

I'll FAP but you filthy beggers ain't staying at my pad.

Ally (mlescaut), Wednesday, 16 April 2003 19:27 (twenty-two years ago)

hey those filthy beggars get paid on our dime, so maybe you can order 'em around, Ally.

(plus I thot you liked guys in uniform?)

hstencil, Wednesday, 16 April 2003 19:29 (twenty-two years ago)

no, i moved on.

Ally (mlescaut), Wednesday, 16 April 2003 20:01 (twenty-two years ago)

too bad. You could've played "Commander-In-Chief." *rowr*

hstencil, Wednesday, 16 April 2003 20:13 (twenty-two years ago)

uh this isn't helping.

So far Friday seems like the safest bet.

Millar (Millar), Wednesday, 16 April 2003 22:43 (twenty-two years ago)

Millar sadly I can't offer you a place to crash, but you should come regardless! WOOP WOOP

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Wednesday, 16 April 2003 23:02 (twenty-two years ago)

well get together wit yr giant huge NYC1Lx0R posse and find us a place to sleep tight! You got two days! I know you guys can pull it together. We can make it happen.

PS e-mail me cell #s if need be (it wd help things massively when we show), I assume you can all xlate my email below (u r not spamspiders)

Millar (Millar), Wednesday, 16 April 2003 23:08 (twenty-two years ago)

I can't offer you a place to stay either Millar. But provided I'm completely over this shitty cold, I'm down for hanging.

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Thursday, 17 April 2003 02:02 (twenty-two years ago)

do you people not understand the concept of 'support the troops'? gwtpp!

James Blount (James Blount), Thursday, 17 April 2003 02:04 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm a spamspider.

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 17 April 2003 02:05 (twenty-two years ago)

I would totally let him crash but my place is the size of a matchbox! (that and I h8 amurca)

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Thursday, 17 April 2003 02:09 (twenty-two years ago)

Tracer has like a 5 story apartment, he could totally fit all of us.

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 17 April 2003 02:12 (twenty-two years ago)

Millar - there is a Navy Lodge on Staten Island if push comes to shove, 72 bucks a night for two beds, kitchenette

James Blount (James Blount), Thursday, 17 April 2003 02:13 (twenty-two years ago)

Tracer's a fucking Commie Iraqi Syrian lover.

$72 seems awfully high to stay in Staten Island. I would try a hostel before that. (there's a decent one at 10th and Ave A)

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Thursday, 17 April 2003 02:19 (twenty-two years ago)

I might be able to get a room for $80 near my house. MIGHT.

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 17 April 2003 02:21 (twenty-two years ago)

apparently there isn't enough room in Ally's HOUSE for patriotism

James Blount (James Blount), Thursday, 17 April 2003 02:22 (twenty-two years ago)

Give a guy a break here, New Yorkers!

Nicole (Nicole), Thursday, 17 April 2003 02:26 (twenty-two years ago)

Dude, James, my apartment is not big enough for this. I learned my lesson when I had parades of people living in my house. It just doesn't work. Plus--there are no doors, do you want Millar to see me naked?

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 17 April 2003 02:27 (twenty-two years ago)

I would offer space, if a bit randomly, were it not for:
a) my virtual residence at work
and
b) my apt currently constituting an open invitation to rodents of unusual size

gabbneb (gabbneb), Thursday, 17 April 2003 02:38 (twenty-two years ago)

there are no doors, do you want Millar to see me naked?

The ILX equivalent of the question, "To be or not to be?" Perhaps.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 17 April 2003 04:11 (twenty-two years ago)

hey Millar there's a Motherfucker party this Friday, the promoter is always looking for cute straight boys to bring home!

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Thursday, 17 April 2003 12:21 (twenty-two years ago)

Tracer, do you remember me asking you to remember to invite me to those when you find out about them? Considering your usual M.O. is to go, see me one week later exactly and then announce loudly, to everyone around, that I suck for not attending?

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 17 April 2003 12:23 (twenty-two years ago)

Ally it's not like there's some secret code, I mean it's in Time Out even. Okay I have to go to work.

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Thursday, 17 April 2003 12:51 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't know why I even try to hang out with you half the time.

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 17 April 2003 12:52 (twenty-two years ago)

Hey Tom, no go on stayin' at my place tonight, my roommate D!390 (that's right, he posts here sometimes) has got a friend in town.

hstencil, Thursday, 17 April 2003 12:54 (twenty-two years ago)

I think Tom's not coming til Friday anyway. Okay I'm at work and everything about my computer crashes except for ILXOR!! Let's all help Tom out here, shall we? Yes my place is ginormous but the lovely Emma B needs to work there almost all weekend and Millar, I don't think you want to help her research the nuances of the organic detergent and foodstuff market. I wish that were a euphemism but it's not.

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Thursday, 17 April 2003 14:13 (twenty-two years ago)

er REVIVE bcz Nick bought the VV today (which pretty much seals our fate)

Millar (Millar), Thursday, 17 April 2003 22:35 (twenty-two years ago)

YOU GUYS SUCK

SEE YOU IN A FEW HOURS

Millar (Millar), Friday, 18 April 2003 15:32 (twenty-two years ago)

Everyone needs to concentrate on getting bigger living spaces. You have until late June. Cuz that's when I'm coming up. Are you ready? Get set... GO!

Sarah McLUsky (coco), Friday, 18 April 2003 15:44 (twenty-two years ago)

Where are we going? And when? Or have I missed something?

Michael Daddino (epicharmus), Friday, 18 April 2003 15:52 (twenty-two years ago)

There is no plan, Michael. I think Millar's gonna roll into town and then say, "Someone meet me." And that'll be it. I cannot attend the festivities tonight (tho if something's going on tomorrow I could prolly hang).

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Friday, 18 April 2003 15:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Sarah my apartment is huge.

hstencil, Friday, 18 April 2003 16:21 (twenty-two years ago)

WHAT IS GOING ON AND WHEN AM I GOING TO BE INFORMED?

Ally (mlescaut), Friday, 18 April 2003 21:24 (twenty-two years ago)

I thought you wanted to go to Motherf*cker tonight?

felicity (felicity), Friday, 18 April 2003 21:26 (twenty-two years ago)

What the fuck people? I'm sitting around, let's do something!

hstencil, Friday, 18 April 2003 21:30 (twenty-two years ago)

No, I don't.

I haven't slept in quite some time though so I don't know if I am actually up to the challenge of going out.

Ally (mlescaut), Friday, 18 April 2003 21:33 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm going to work some more and then I have to return some videotapes.

Patrick (felicity), Friday, 18 April 2003 21:34 (twenty-two years ago)

I believe I owe you a book, Patrick.

Ally (mlescaut), Friday, 18 April 2003 21:39 (twenty-two years ago)

Patrick?

hstencil, Friday, 18 April 2003 21:41 (twenty-two years ago)

No, you're mistaken. I am not your friend "Patrick."

Not Patrick (felicity), Friday, 18 April 2003 21:43 (twenty-two years ago)

IS THERE SOMETHING YOU'D LIKE TO SHARE WITH THE REST OF US AMAZING HSTENCIL?

Ally (mlescaut), Friday, 18 April 2003 21:44 (twenty-two years ago)

uh, what would you like to know?

hstencil, Friday, 18 April 2003 21:46 (twenty-two years ago)

I have a bad headache. I am no good at spur of the moment going out.

rosemary (rosemary), Friday, 18 April 2003 21:48 (twenty-two years ago)

Um. Would you like to see my business card?

Ally (mlescaut), Friday, 18 April 2003 21:49 (twenty-two years ago)

uh, sure?

hstencil, Friday, 18 April 2003 21:50 (twenty-two years ago)

I am available for a midnite screening on the Lower East Side if anyone is so inclined.

Mary (Mary), Friday, 18 April 2003 21:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Mary, let's do something this weekend, (if you don't already have plans or anything).

rosemary (rosemary), Friday, 18 April 2003 22:05 (twenty-two years ago)

Okay, no date tonight, it's for Sunday. Anybody wanna FAP?

hstencil, Friday, 18 April 2003 22:07 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm a little hungover, but I'd be up for going out a bit later.

Jody Beth Rosen (Jody Beth Rosen), Friday, 18 April 2003 22:16 (twenty-two years ago)

If anyone's so inclined I'll be @ Downtime around 1am or so. 251 W 30th between 7th and 8th. Millar if you manage to check your internet you should come, I think you would like it! (That goes for everyone else, too!)

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Friday, 18 April 2003 22:20 (twenty-two years ago)

I might go to Lit, actually, but I dunno.

hstencil, Friday, 18 April 2003 22:25 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm such an awesome tourist. I lost my cell in the first taxi downtown. I'm at the internet cafe at Times Square listening to the shittiest smooth jazz the world has to offer. Somebody suggest a bar in the next five or ten minutes and we'll show up. Or don't and we'll go get drunk somewhere and try to forget any of this ever happened.

ARRRGH

Millar (Millar), Saturday, 19 April 2003 00:31 (twenty-two years ago)

Or we will just check out downtime @ Tracer's suggestion (IHATETHISKEYBOARD)

Millar (Millar), Saturday, 19 April 2003 00:37 (twenty-two years ago)

honey I'm sick, I'm not coming out - but I think you should go to the Irish bar across from penn station, because they play the smiths and there's a real cute waitress.

Ally (mlescaut), Saturday, 19 April 2003 00:39 (twenty-two years ago)

We went to CBGBs and got kinda drunk. Then we went to 119 and got drunk and Nick took a nap on the couch. Then we stayed at the St. Mark's hotel and drank some more. Then we woke up at 11 and wandered around St. Mark's for a while, ran out of cash, got a cab and went home. I really like that Brooklyn brewery stuff. I think we blew a couple of paychecks on records alone.

Millar (Millar), Sunday, 20 April 2003 00:12 (twenty-two years ago)

I just realized nothing is what it seems—wait, no, I just realized that I left detailed instructions and no way of identifying myself!! It's a good thing you didn't go anyway, Millar; I arrived at 1:30 and within 5 minutes there were firetrucks pulling up, police cars, people streaming out of the club, no one knew what was going on. We waited for awhile but it became clear that nothing was going to happen. I found out today that while Downtime technically has only a 300 person capacity (which is absurd, it could easily hold twice that many) there were 600 people inside and somebody had called the fire marshal. Sorry to anyone else who followed my advice!
