How do you pronounce DUNEDIN you fcukers?

Dun-NAY-din?

DOO-nay-din?

Dunny-din?

DO YOU KNOW? (this may not be the one).

We have even asked one of those australian foax. He doesn't know.

Explanation for what i wrote above: South Islanders are notoriously willfully ignorant of the "correct" pronunciation of placenames so no-one really knows how it was originally pronounced. I've heard all of the above pronunciations being used; dun-EE-din is the most common one but some people say DUN-ee-din is the correct one.

I called it Dune Din for a long time, my dad knew it was Done Eden though, coz like he knows everything.

nobody in new zealand pronounces anything right. i am in oamaru at the moment, everyone (me included) pronounces it Oh-mah-roo. its supposed to be oh-ah-mah-roo.

The weird thing is; the further people are from Oamaru the more likely they will say it correctly. ie everyone in Northland can say it; lots of people can in Wellington, a few in Christchurch but no-one from Oamaru.
