can anyone acccount for the current fashion for denim that looks, well, worn? So for example, a denim jacket will have a faded, almost yellowish hue in a streak down the back even when new? How is the effect achieved?

i find it crazy that levis have stopped making the bog-standard red-tagged black denim jacket (the wife even phoned levi headquarters in england to find one) and i guess i'll just have to keep wearing my old one until it falls apart completely (i give it about two weeks).
