Okay, I'm ALREADY old...which is to say that I only know the game from my *kids* playing it. And what I always hated is that Sonic didn't look like a hedgehog AT ALL. He was just too emaciated--not the least bit round! Just like that Crash Bandicoot or whatever he was called didn't look anything like a bandicoot. Like, what the fuck?

Tails was a young (fox) boy. The weird thing was on the daily cartoon (which was more comedic than the weekly one), Sonic and Tails were shone sleeping in the same bed on more than one occasion. Sonic was also known to go undercover in drag.

Tails was kinda like Sonic's "Robin". I think his family was turned into robots by Dr.Robotnik, who also did that to Sonic's beloved Uncle Chuck.

I know everyone got excited about the bad CGI but the real shocker in the first trailer was the painfully unfunny scene with Jim Carrey, and there is no way they've fixed that. It is still going to be a stinker, not that I would go to see it even if it were good.

What?! The Carrey material looks great! When I saw Ace Ventura twenty-five years ago, I remember thinking that the only thing that could've possibly made it better/funnier is if Jim Carrey was middle-aged and sporting an enormous fake mustache and interacting with a CGI video game character. So this is like the best of all possible worlds.

Is he contractually prohibited from saying 'Ssssssssmokin'!' in other movies? Because I hope he says that in this one. Maybe Sonic will burn out with his super-speed at some point and Dr. Robotnik will look at the actual smoke he leaves behind and say 'Sssssssssssssssssssssssmokin'' and maybe even briefly turn into the Mask when he does, I think that would be cool. Jim Carrey should just make this like a greatest hits reel for all of his famous bits that have left us rolling in the aisles for so many years.
