one year passes...
Good grief! Did anyone just watch the '20 Best Chat Show Moments' thing on Five? I realise I should have been watching the docudrama about the Al-Qaeda Hamburg cell on C4, but I wasn't.

The clips themselves were entertaining enough to watch again (except for Emu and Parkinson - why on earth is this funny?) but REBECCA LOOS. Have you ever seen such an incompetent performance by a TV presenter in your life? They should have had Paul Morley talking about her instead.

I can only assume she was left to write the script herself. Sample lines:

After George Best and Oliver Reid: "Mmm.. I just fancy a glass of wine myself"

After that antiques boy, complete with post-op interview: "What a weird story!"

Before the No.1: "And now, the moment you've all been waiting for... but have you guessed what it is yet?"

All delivered in a manner that suggested she actually was reading off an autocue for the first time in her life.

Extraordinary.

I saw it. Best was the link where she was pretending to be looking at a text message on her phone and then went "Ooh, I think I'll answer that one later" in a saucy voice. I don't know what to make of her at all.

Cathy (Cathy), Thursday, 2 September 2004 21:48 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh, I missed that bit! Seriously, she is extraordinary.

I am writing an office memo right now - at 2:26am - I am going to work the work "saucy" in here somehow, even if it kills me.
