Omaha

Ed (dali), Wednesday, 23 April 2003 16:01 (twenty-two years ago)

There's no risk of SARS in Quebec. Only Toronto.

Horace Mann (Horace Mann), Wednesday, 23 April 2003 16:02 (twenty-two years ago)

New Orleans

Savannah

jel -- (jel), Wednesday, 23 April 2003 16:05 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm already in New Orleans and want OUT!

SplendidMullet (iamamonkey), Wednesday, 23 April 2003 16:08 (twenty-two years ago)

Even Omaha sounds tempting

SplendidMullet (iamamonkey), Wednesday, 23 April 2003 16:09 (twenty-two years ago)

You should visit Quebec. No SARS here yet, touch wood.

slutsky (slutsky), Wednesday, 23 April 2003 16:09 (twenty-two years ago)

I was afraid of that

luna (luna.c), Wednesday, 23 April 2003 16:10 (twenty-two years ago)

Memphis, then Smoky Mountains. Culture, then nature--and not too far from NO.

buttch (Oops), Wednesday, 23 April 2003 16:10 (twenty-two years ago)

Worcester Massachusetts. It rocks here.

Chris V. (Chris V), Wednesday, 23 April 2003 16:43 (twenty-two years ago)

I just went to Worcester its my wifes home!

SplendidMullet (iamamonkey), Wednesday, 23 April 2003 18:35 (twenty-two years ago)

buttch is correct, naturally.

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Wednesday, 23 April 2003 18:36 (twenty-two years ago)

(Except for putting the words "culture" and "Memphis" within spitting distance of each other. Otherwise traveling lengthwise across Tennessee is an excellent idea.)

All bets are off now as I have decided to join an anarcho-vegan commune. anyone intrested in a Rolex Air King pounded out of stainless steel by the bloodied paws of oppressed Swiss children may email. The proceeds will be divided among my favorite co-ops.

SplendidMullet (iamamonkey), Thursday, 24 April 2003 01:42 (twenty-two years ago)

If your anarcho-vegan commune releases you, Boston! May is usually very nice there- it's not yet sticky & humid, but just nicely warm.

lyra (lyra), Thursday, 24 April 2003 01:59 (twenty-two years ago)

from one anarcho-vegan commune to another...

hstencil, Thursday, 24 April 2003 02:03 (twenty-two years ago)

Isn't that just Cambridge, though? ;-) I never actually lived over on Boston, but it never seemed quite as hippieish as, say, Central Square.

thirteen years pass...

hey what's up ilx, been a long time since i rapped at ya

what bright ideas do you have a for a short stay somewhere?

criteria are:

week of Oct 17-21
peaceful, but stuff to do
somewhere to swim

right now i'm looking into pismo beach CA and the outer banks NC

goole, Monday, 3 October 2016 20:28 (nine years ago)

yeah those options sound better than me offering my couch

I also realized today I need to plan some travel. Like a couple days on a weekend sometime soon and somewhere warm during the january/february timeframe.

dr. mercurio arboria (mh 😏), Monday, 3 October 2016 20:32 (nine years ago)

man i know i took 0 time this summer, so dumb

goole, Monday, 3 October 2016 20:33 (nine years ago)

fwiw my coworker who lived in NC for a number of years has good things to say about outer banks

yeah, same here, I took a couple long weekends and barely left town. partially to save money after being in canada for almost two weeks back in may/june...

I keep meaning to come hang around minneapolis but that is an idea with quickly diminishing returns as far as weather goes

dr. mercurio arboria (mh 😏), Monday, 3 October 2016 20:35 (nine years ago)

somewhere warm during the january/february timeframe.

California

sarahell, Monday, 3 October 2016 20:37 (nine years ago)

oh, I've been there *dismisses entire giant state with wave of arm*

my manager's manager works from a research center not that far from the bay area, which I've never quite understood. presumably they had IT staff out there for a logical reason at some point and now I think it's just a courtesy. in any case, work should send me out there

dr. mercurio arboria (mh 😏), Monday, 3 October 2016 20:43 (nine years ago)

yes, they should! granted the bay area is not what anyone from there would call warm in february, though I am aware that 55 degrees in february is not considered "cold" by some ppl

sarahell, Monday, 3 October 2016 20:51 (nine years ago)

my friends that lived in san diego moved to the bay

i was trying to convince my parents that san diego would be an excellent place to retire. they could buy my friends' home and i would gladly visit them. i don't think it's working :(
