What a fucker. And what non-sequitous logic.

Ed (dali), Thursday, 24 April 2003 06:00 (twenty-two years ago)

to change gears from light-hearted to serious for one (and only one) post ... how could a state as bona-fide classic as Pennsylvania have two bona-fide boneheads as their U.S. Senators? Between Arlen "JFK Was Shot with One Magic Bullet/Anita Hill Is a Slut" Spector and Rich "Homos are Like People who Commit Incest" Santorum -- I mean, I guess one moron is understandable. But two? Living proof of the old saying, "everything in between Philadelphia and Pittsburgh is Alabama."

Tad (llamasfur), Thursday, 24 April 2003 06:12 (twenty-two years ago)

ha! i heard versions of that joke this weekend that used west virginia and kentucky!

4mateurist (amateurist), Thursday, 24 April 2003 06:22 (twenty-two years ago)

I've got family in Alabama, West Virginia and Kentucky, but not Pennsylvania. You people should be nicer to the first three.

hstencil, Thursday, 24 April 2003 12:56 (twenty-two years ago)

JBR, how can you even question it?

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 24 April 2003 12:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Ever notice people who use this strained logic are usually the same people who don't think its logically possible for someone to be aginst the war but for the troops?

David Beckhouse (David Beckhouse), Thursday, 24 April 2003 23:58 (twenty-two years ago)

I have no problem with Geir Hongro. I have a problem with Hongroist behavior.

Geirophobe!

Nicole (Nicole), Friday, 25 April 2003 00:13 (twenty-two years ago)

Are there laws against incest? I've always assumed that a father molesting his children would be convicted of statuatory rape, not by some separate incest law. But these kinds of articles imply that there are such laws.

Curt1s St3ph3ns, Friday, 25 April 2003 00:57 (twenty-two years ago)

I think any "incest laws" would be there to prevent marriage between relatives.

Statutory rape is a rather mild charge and is usually levelled against an otherwise consensual act where one person was underage.

People who molest children, regardless of any relation between themselves and the victim, will be charged with something between indenency with a child and, at the worst extreme, aggravated sexual assault of a child.

That Girl (thatgirl), Friday, 25 April 2003 01:10 (twenty-two years ago)

Santorum = "Melody RULZ" in Latin

Joe (Joe), Friday, 25 April 2003 01:16 (twenty-two years ago)

I sort-of worked for a Pennsylvania politician, and he was despicable. Don't turn this into a south-bashing thing just because Pennsylvania can't take care of itself.

Chris H. (chrisherbert), Friday, 25 April 2003 01:19 (twenty-two years ago)

I think that Baio-pic above is really hot! But what is going on at the bottom of the frame that we can't see??

Sean (Sean), Friday, 25 April 2003 02:02 (twenty-two years ago)

does anyone else think of "I don't have a problem with you fucking me but I have a little problem with you not fucking me" when they see this quote?

James Blount (James Blount), Friday, 25 April 2003 06:10 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't agree with what this politician is saying, but it's not illogical.

It all depends on how you define homosexuality. I believe that it is possible to be a non-practicing homosexual. I know someone who, because of their strong Christian beliefs, will never act upon the sexual impulses that they feel towards men.

To me this seems really sad, but many Chrisitians share his viewpoint that the desire to sleep with men is not intrinsically wrong, as long as it is not fulfilled.
