The County Championship 2003

I'm going to make a real effort to follow this this year, maybe evn take in a few days at Lords. So this is the thread to discuss it.

Having got my head round the bonus points system, I've decided I don't like it. I like it even less than the incomprehensible duckworth-lewis method.

I shall be dividing my loyalties between Yorkshire and Middlesex but I guess Middlesex will have to be my team.

If anyone can find a fantasy cricket game, then we can play that too.

So Middlesex had a good first day even if they lost a few too many wickets for my liking in the early stages of play.

Derbyshire will do nothing plus ca change

I fear that Middlesex will be somewhat hopeless. They've only just come up, right?

Yorkshire were relegated last season but judging by how they turned over Northhants this should be a short lived anomoly.

Oh well looks like Middlesex will have to folow on and could loose by an innings.

Ed (dali), Thursday, 24 April 2003 10:06 (twenty-two years ago)

They could even lose before the end of the day if they carry on like this.

Somerset don't look to be setting the world on fire this season. The bowling's sound but the batting looks a bit flimsy.

So middlessex snatch a good team victory after a bad fist inning and lie second in division 1 of the county championship. The won in the sunday league. Anyone fancy going to a day of the next game against Lancashire at Lord's?

Ed (dali), Monday, 28 April 2003 14:25 (twenty-two years ago)

Can't make that but if you fancy a day of the rematch at old trafford me and lynskey would be massively in favour.

I'll be rooting for Sussex. In the Australian sense. My cousin plays for them, so it's an easy decision to make. Play up, Sussex!

If I'm not away then its a date.
