Irn Bru - Ferric Citrate luminous orange chip degreaser.

Ed (dali), Friday, 25 April 2003 11:28 (twenty-two years ago)

at work a couple of years ago we sat trying to work out the flavours of Dr Pepper and couldn't. So we rang them up and they wouldn't tell us apart from fruit flavourings, which was pretty annoying I must say, they wouldn't even say which fruit!

I thought this was a Taking Sides issue; in which case, Vimto. You can get sour fizzy Vimto bottles sweets in Woolies now, and mighty fine they are too.

i think Dr p is almond - it always tastes abit like ammeretto.

another one is root beer - i love it but what the fuk????

james (james), Friday, 25 April 2003 11:29 (twenty-two years ago)

you can make alcoholic dr pep by dropping a measure of amaretto in a pint of lager apparently

chris (chris), Friday, 25 April 2003 11:30 (twenty-two years ago)

irn-bru = sparkling flavoured soft drink.

RJG (RJG), Friday, 25 April 2003 11:32 (twenty-two years ago)

irn-bru = hyperactive child fuel. Apparently it's like the best hangover cure in the world evah! But I can't drink the stuff so I dunno.

smee (smee), Friday, 25 April 2003 11:33 (twenty-two years ago)

Dr Pepper tastes like liquid marzipan.

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 25 April 2003 11:34 (twenty-two years ago)

Root beer tastes like Calpol. Irn Bru tastes like rusty nails but in a good way.

Archel (Archel), Friday, 25 April 2003 11:36 (twenty-two years ago)

Am I imagining there was once a thing called Tizer Ice? It was on trial run in london for about 20p a can, supposedly contained magic ingredient to keep it cold. This also made it taste utterly unbearable.

Oh, and dandelion & burdock owns these muthas. Though Vimto fizzy is rather nice.

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Friday, 25 April 2003 11:40 (twenty-two years ago)

Root beer is just fizzy germalene! mmmmm

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 25 April 2003 11:40 (twenty-two years ago)

mmmm irn bru. NEVER spill it on a white t-shirt though as it *won't* come out. so fuck knows what it does to your insides, but, mmm, that's good staining

j0e (j0e), Friday, 25 April 2003 11:44 (twenty-two years ago)

I thought a Tizer Ice was supposed to taste like a Tizer Float - ie what you get when you put vanilla ice cream into a glass of Tizer at kids' parties.

Vimto is, I think, grape, blackcurrant and something else. Tizer is cherryade, innit?

I've got a can of Irn Bru right in front of me right now. It actually says "if spilt this product may stain" so god knows what sort of shite is in there. It doesn't taste fruity though.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 25 April 2003 11:46 (twenty-two years ago)

OK, Irn-Bru is disgusting. Unless you mix it with some vodka.

phil-two (phil-two), Friday, 25 April 2003 11:47 (twenty-two years ago)

irn bru and jack daniels is the drink of KINGS

j0e (j0e), Friday, 25 April 2003 11:49 (twenty-two years ago)

irn bru is kind of bubble gum flavour. Dr Pepper has prune juice in it, hasn't it?

I was brought up on vimto (the diluting kind) which was meant to be blackcurrant (or was it just berry flavour?), but was very burnt caramel like.

Vicky (Vicky), Friday, 25 April 2003 11:49 (twenty-two years ago)

diet dr pepper tastes of aspirin

j0e (j0e), Friday, 25 April 2003 11:51 (twenty-two years ago)

William is spot on with dandelion and burdock, how can such a thick, sweet , fizzy drink be so refreshing? but it is!

Has to be BArr's though, the ones who make Irn Bru.

chris (chris), Friday, 25 April 2003 11:54 (twenty-two years ago)

j0e is OTM re: Irn-Bru stains. I recently washed my favorite pair of jeans, and the Irn-Bru stain was the only one to survive.

phil-two (phil-two), Friday, 25 April 2003 11:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Dandelion and Burdock is the soft drink of kings.

Ed (dali), Friday, 25 April 2003 11:58 (twenty-two years ago)

Irn-Bru is the least shit version of WKD. I would say 'nicest version', but I hate those WKD ads so fucking baaaad...

Vimto is a load of berries and ten tonnes of carbonation and as such is great. The still version is like a slightly more appealing version of satan's widdle, i.e. apple & blackcurrant squash, the most piss-weak flavouring in the universe.

Tizer is pretty blah anyway. It wouldn't amaze me if Dr Pepper was rhubarb in some way, shape or form.

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Friday, 25 April 2003 12:00 (twenty-two years ago)

William, that is so the wrong way round! Irn-bru is the original.

chris (chris), Friday, 25 April 2003 12:06 (twenty-two years ago)

Dr Pepper is the best, and is prune flavoured. However, it *doesn't* make you regular. Quite the opposite :(

Would that be the voice of bitter experience speaking?
