It's actually faintly childish, but myself and a friend were watching The World's Strongest Woman on Sunday (well, the end of it at any rate). On Monday, he emailed me with an email adress, saying "this is Heini's email adress - send her a message and tell her I fancy her."

To be perfectly honest I thought it was a fake email address, but I have no idea how he found it. So just for a laugh emailed her with a short message "my friend David would like to ask for your hand in marriage". I then promptly forgot about it until today, when she replied "I'm very flattered - tell David I said hi =)". Still, it was the most pleasantly silly thing to happen to me this week.

Who is the most famous person who has ever emailed you? (Ilx0rs excepted, obv).

If this is restricted to public figures you've never met, I'd like to say Gary Bloom (as a result of an ILX posting!) but then I recall the Fry & Laurie 'Big-o-meter', where Tony Gubba was close to the bottom with a rating of only 1.3, so perhaps GB is dwarfed by Simon Reynolds.

How come I didn't notice this thread before? Anyway, "Koivuniemi" translates to "Birch Cape", and "Heini" doesn't mean anything, it's a perfectly ordinary girl's name in Finland (probably derived from "Heidi"). I know a couple of Heini's myself.

By the way, the Finnish word for ass is "perse", so it's always funny to me when someone uses the Latin expression per se...

Her name's pronounced HAY-nee--with the stress/accent being on the first syllable. I don't speak Finnish at all fluently, but i'm roughly familiar with how it's supposed to be pronounced. Just a bit of FYI!
