Bush: "They're not going to find anything."

While still in Ohio, Bush raised the possibility that any Iraqi weapons of mass destruction were destroyed before or during the U.S.-led war, suggesting for the first time that coalition troops may come up empty in their search.

Now call me crazy, but didn't we bomb them for NOT destroying their weapons of mass destruction? And now the tone is, "Oh, they've been destroyed already, because the Iraqis were just trying to cover their tracks, because they're sneaky little brown weasels." Well, weren't we ASKING them to destroy their weapons?

I know... I know. Another logical hole in the Bush administration's logic. Not exactly front page news. Or is it?

the best thing about this is the "they destroyed their WMD pre-war" info is coming solely out of a NY Times article which, thanks to the military's concept of a "free press," can never ever be verified.

"So, when do we get to meet this girlfriend of yours?"

"Um... she moved. Or died. I'm not sure which."

If there WOMDs in Iran, why didn't Saddam, that well-known megalomaniac who'll stop at nothing to stay in power, defend his position by sending one in the very particular direction of the first American bodily orifice to present itself?

"Operation Desert Snipe " - One of the best analysese of the post-war WMD situation I have come across. A snipe hunt is indeed exactly what it is.
