There should be like nine linebreaks between #1 and the rest, btw

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Saturday, 26 April 2003 00:53 (twenty-two years ago)

oh, parliaments are good, too.

RJG (RJG), Saturday, 26 April 2003 00:55 (twenty-two years ago)

I smoke Parliaments. But sometimes I like Players.

Chris V. (Chris V), Saturday, 26 April 2003 00:59 (twenty-two years ago)

Nat Sherman Phantom? These weren't around last time I was able to get Nats. I am experiencing lust-for-the-unknown now.

Tep (ktepi), Saturday, 26 April 2003 00:59 (twenty-two years ago)

They're very thin and extremely rich, if you finish one in a single sitting you get extra light-headed effects. I think all those "luxury" smokes are dipped in like simple sugar and strontium or something, it's like inhaling Willy Wonka's chocolate factory.

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Saturday, 26 April 2003 02:12 (twenty-two years ago)

Sweet Jesus. I wonder if it's legal to order cigarettes by mail in this thread (you can't do it with alcohol, which is why I ended up getting a bottle of Canton from someone who carted it in from California).

... "if" you finish one in a single sitting. I like that. It implies you could be sitting there smoking your cigarette and be all "Yeah, I'm gonna save the rest for later." I have never done that, except when the bus came just as I'd lit up.

Tep (ktepi), Saturday, 26 April 2003 02:19 (twenty-two years ago)

.. and looking for them online, I've found Guarana cigarettes

Tep (ktepi), Saturday, 26 April 2003 02:25 (twenty-two years ago)

they used to call it "drinking tobacco" because the strong tobacco smoked straight thru pipes (and later, cigars) would totally knock you on your ass, like alcohol did; smokers were "dry drunks"

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Saturday, 26 April 2003 02:37 (twenty-two years ago)

Camel Lights (hard pack) Tep is OTM about it being default cig
The Real Drum with Zig Zags
George Karelias
Dunhill Reds
American Spirit Yellow
Chesterfields
Lucky Strikes
Player's Light
Davidoff Magnum
KOOL

Cub, Saturday, 26 April 2003 02:39 (twenty-two years ago)

I like chesterfields, too.

RJG (RJG), Saturday, 26 April 2003 02:42 (twenty-two years ago)

i used to adore cameos, cos they have a pretty pastel lady on and have silk tips. but now i don't much care for tailies, compared with rollies they just taste dirty.

di smith (lucylurex), Saturday, 26 April 2003 02:43 (twenty-two years ago)

not that i am a real smoker.

di smith (lucylurex), Saturday, 26 April 2003 02:43 (twenty-two years ago)

Canadian cigarette names suck.
Players
Export 'A'(my brand!)
Du Maurier
Canadian Classic
Craven
Sportsman (okay that one used to be cool, yellow pkg with a dude reeling in a big fish, now they're that shitty forest green)
Avanti
there must be others, but they all suck.

Horace Mann (Horace Mann), Saturday, 26 April 2003 02:53 (twenty-two years ago)

No one's ever walked a mile for a Craven.

Tep (ktepi), Saturday, 26 April 2003 02:54 (twenty-two years ago)

I kind of have a fondness for the Canadian Classics.

slutsky (slutsky), Saturday, 26 April 2003 04:30 (twenty-two years ago)

Sort of once a year, in-the-country kinda thing.

slutsky (slutsky), Saturday, 26 April 2003 04:31 (twenty-two years ago)

Millar (Millar), Saturday, 26 April 2003 05:17 (twenty-two years ago)

I could totally be Millar's smoking buddy. Especially when he's drunk and won't notice how many cigarettes I'm "borrowing."

Tep (ktepi), Saturday, 26 April 2003 05:18 (twenty-two years ago)

I...want...a ...cigarette...

luna (luna.c), Saturday, 26 April 2003 05:21 (twenty-two years ago)

Ha ha. Quitter.

Tep (ktepi), Saturday, 26 April 2003 05:22 (twenty-two years ago)

I had probably two tonight - they tasted like shit, but I wanted them anyway

luna (luna.c), Saturday, 26 April 2003 05:23 (twenty-two years ago)

That's the Zen of smoking.

Tep (ktepi), Saturday, 26 April 2003 05:26 (twenty-two years ago)

Dude, Tep, that's why I always carry an extra fresh pack on my party nights. Believe me, I notice. But I don't give a fuck.

Millar (Millar), Saturday, 26 April 2003 05:27 (twenty-two years ago)

See, smokers are the most generous people. I mean, I don't think I've -ever- had someone refuse when I asked to bum a cigarette, and the only time I won't give someone one is if I'm on my last. Strangers, casual acquaintances, duck talkers, doesn't matter.

No one ever comes up to you and says, "Hey, can I get a hit off that Dr Pepper?" and with damn good reason.

Tep (ktepi), Saturday, 26 April 2003 05:31 (twenty-two years ago)

I partially quit smoking 'cos I smoked a carton and a half during 8 days of Mardi Gras, but realized later that I gave most of them away

luna (luna.c), Saturday, 26 April 2003 05:32 (twenty-two years ago)

See, you should've just given them up for LENT. That's the whole Mardi Gras thing! You over-Catholicked!

Tep (ktepi), Saturday, 26 April 2003 05:33 (twenty-two years ago)

Damn me

luna (luna.c), Saturday, 26 April 2003 05:34 (twenty-two years ago)

(Besides, a carton and a half is, what, 300 cigarettes, eight days, that's ... yeah, nevermind, that's when I quit, too. But I came back.)

Tep (ktepi), Saturday, 26 April 2003 05:36 (twenty-two years ago)

I was even reduced to smoking my friend's menthol 120's, I was so desperate. Fuck was that nasty.

luna (luna.c), Saturday, 26 April 2003 05:40 (twenty-two years ago)

I quit in December 2001. I smoked Marlboro, with Winston and Camel as my next choices.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Saturday, 26 April 2003 10:30 (twenty-two years ago)

I started with Camels, then Marlboro Reds and Mediums, by the time I quit I was down to Marlboro Ultra Lights and I still couldn't take it...

luna (luna.c), Sunday, 27 April 2003 00:38 (twenty-two years ago)
