Yes, I do keep banging on, but the man really is a goit. See him hilariously call Avril Lavigne 'Orville Lavigne!'

Plus which - this 'continuous countdown' bullshidd. He only plays new entries and certain other songs in full, then sort of skims the others. At least two weeks running now he's played Ja Rule & Ashanti and Liberty X, neither of which were new entries or going up the chart or anything. Goit. Goit goit goit. Goit.

Other notes - Billy Crawford and Usher - separated at birth. Surely.

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Sunday, 27 April 2003 14:45 (twenty-two years ago)

And I should probably have put this on ILM. Darn.

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Sunday, 27 April 2003 14:53 (twenty-two years ago)

But hey - The Bluetones at #25! This is one of their not-that-great moments, though.

Also - Jurgen Vries = Angelic. Which is odd, because I was always under the impression Angelic was meant to be Judge Jules' wife. Also, his new single (Jurgen Vries, in his DT8 alias) features Roxanne Wilde, Kim Wilde's sister, who was in some godawful band a year or two ago that were on kids telly quite a bit. Can't quite remember their name. They were a bit like Sleeper but without the wit, if I remember right.

Watch the Top 40 on the CBBC Channel, that way you get to see the dodgy videos for all the weirdo stuff that somehow gets to number 18.

Graham (graham), Sunday, 27 April 2003 16:26 (twenty-two years ago)

Popworld is where it's at.

Cozen (Cozen), Sunday, 27 April 2003 16:28 (twenty-two years ago)

At 9:25 on a Sunday morning? Are you human?

(Planet Pop was bestest)

Graham (graham), Sunday, 27 April 2003 16:34 (twenty-two years ago)

No, I'm a Replicant.

Cozen (Cozen), Sunday, 27 April 2003 16:35 (twenty-two years ago)

Cozen is right!

I got up at half eight to watch Transformers.

You don't have to justify yourself to Graham, jel.

are you talking about Goldfrapp?!

stevem (blueski), Sunday, 27 April 2003 17:16 (twenty-two years ago)

This week that comment applies to D-Birds at #21. I missed it last week, maybe they showed Goldfrapp.

Disturbing Thought Of The Day - somewhere out there, there is a person who thinks that V-Birds are A Really Good Idea.

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Sunday, 27 April 2003 17:36 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh, and can someone please tell me why I like that David Sneddon single?

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Sunday, 27 April 2003 17:39 (twenty-two years ago)

Busted are number one! Rejoice!

jel -- (jel), Sunday, 27 April 2003 17:46 (twenty-two years ago)

I've just brought the Stasi back out of retirement to go round to jel's house. Busted make me feel dirty for wanting David Sneddon to get to number one, it's like cheering for Leeds or Fulham to beat Manchester United. Except the difference between Busted and Man Utd is that Man Utd aren't A BUNCH OF TALENTLESS, SMUG, SELF-SATISFIED, WACKY, "OOOH, BOY BANDS, THEY'RE SHIT", FNARR FNARR, TALL, SHITTY EYEBROWED, ALL-LOOKING LIKE MEMBERS OF FEEDER CUNTS. Well, Laurent Blanc isn't, at least.

They should have given it to Scott Mills, they really should ...

This is NOT ME. Although I am ashamed to admit that I can name them all.

j0e (j0e), Monday, 28 April 2003 08:28 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm really amazed that V-Birds managed to get to 21 - which isn't that great a position of course, epsically in these days of One Flop Album And You're Out, but still quite remarkable seeing as the "adventures" on Cartoon Network which were on every evening during the first three months of this year months of this year, solely consisted of one single three minute cartoon repeated over and over every evening. I'm not joking - it really was the same short cartoon, again and again.

Chriddof (Chriddof), Monday, 28 April 2003 12:19 (twenty-two years ago)

the first three months of this year months of this year

I thought I'd repeat that, so it sticks in your minds.
