Nordicskillz (Nordicskillz), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 12:01 (twenty-two years ago)

I bet it's Momus.

Nordicskillz (Nordicskillz), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 12:02 (twenty-two years ago)

Momus is a shower. I'm a grower.

Ivor Biggun, Wednesday, 30 April 2003 12:17 (twenty-two years ago)

a pitiful 4 - but a positive 4 none the less

james (james), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 12:20 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't even have an ebay account anymore. *weeps gently*

nickalicious (nickalicious), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 12:42 (twenty-two years ago)

Nordicskillz (Nordicskillz), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 14:18 (twenty-two years ago)

I can't even remember my fkn user code on ebay.

Sarah MCLusky (coco), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 14:23 (twenty-two years ago)

More than 100. *hides face in shame*

j.lu (j.lu), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 14:28 (twenty-two years ago)

I weep with you you Nick. I thought this was going to be about CD collections.

That Girl (thatgirl), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 14:37 (twenty-two years ago)

That particular honour goes to the Raggettstacks.

Nordicskillz (Nordicskillz), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 14:38 (twenty-two years ago)

And who has the biggest monkey, anyway?

ChristineSH (chrissie1068), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 14:39 (twenty-two years ago)

How many you got, Ned?

buttch (Oops), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 14:39 (twenty-two years ago)

What is an ebay rating? (and can we eat it?)

jel -- (jel), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 14:42 (twenty-two years ago)

Positive feedbacks from eBay transactions either as seller or buyer. Get a negative and your total goes down by one. My current total is 916 btw.

David (David), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 14:45 (twenty-two years ago)

Do you have a job, David?

And who has the biggest monkey, anyway?

Don't get me started.

Nordicskillz (Nordicskillz), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 14:54 (twenty-two years ago)

How many you got, Ned?

I stopped counting the number of CDs I have at around 5000. It is now I'm sure larger (possibly even scraping 6000...)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 14:55 (twenty-two years ago)

OK, let's say you have 6000: that means if you listened to one a day it would take you over 16 years to get through them all!

buttch (Oops), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 15:02 (twenty-two years ago)

Wow, that's BIG. My knees were trembling for a second.

ChristineSH (chrissie1068), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 15:03 (twenty-two years ago)

LISTEN to them? That just depreciates their value!

Nick A. (Nick A.), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 15:24 (twenty-two years ago)

Do you have a job, David?

My ratings are from selling not buying, mostly.

David (David), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 15:33 (twenty-two years ago)

7. but two super-nerds i sold records to need to hit me off with the f/b. i want the star

ron (ron), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 17:41 (twenty-two years ago)

My ebay account just got suspended. I haven't bothered to read the e-mail stating why.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 17:48 (twenty-two years ago)

117!

Though I just got negative feedback from an utter monster of a seller. I wrote some terribly scathing feedback for her in retaliation, and she wrote me this email asking why I had to be so mean! That's what you get for recklessly leaving inaccurate feedback for someone, toots.

Nicole (Nicole), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 17:55 (twenty-two years ago)

52. Despite being a total bastard and a worthless member of the human race - 100% positive feedback!!

Dr. C (Dr. C), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 19:58 (twenty-two years ago)

You've got my positive vote too, Dr C! Not that I trade on ebay, so that's no help to your score.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 20:37 (twenty-two years ago)

We should come up with an 3bay scam0rz where if a chap/chapette wants to sell something to a fellow ILXor, the prearrange it, but put it on 3bay with a item title guaranteed to get zero hits from searches and voila! Skyrocketing ratings!

Leee (Leee), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 21:21 (twenty-two years ago)

268. I win. Neener neener.

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 22:16 (twenty-two years ago)

You crazy man, Jim. BTW, members of the band the Lovetones know about Tugboat = last night's pleasant discovery.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 22:19 (twenty-two years ago)

268. I win.

Actually 916 was the target to beat (although I'm up to 918 now).

David (David), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 22:24 (twenty-two years ago)

members of the band the Lovetones know about Tugboat = last night's pleasant discovery

wow, really? I was quite a big fan of Matt Tow's previous band...

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 22:30 (twenty-two years ago)

David I wonder if I've bought records from you - I bet I have...

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 22:31 (twenty-two years ago)

wow, really? I was quite a big fan of Matt Tow's previous band...

The Lovetones are pretty good -- they play some Drop City stuff too! Yeah, I forget the guy's name, but it's the bassist of the band who is from Melbourne, we were bonding over various shoegaze related memories -- he was telling stories about seeing Ride and then seeing MBV a week later and having Kevin Shields give him grief about his Ride shirt, and (Gareth alert!) going to the UK in 1999 and randomly answering an MM musicians wanted ad, chatting a bit with the guy on the other end for a while, and then suddenly finding out it was Piotr F. from Adorable (and indeed this fellow joined his new band Polak and played with them for a couple of years!).

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 1 May 2003 00:54 (twenty-two years ago)

Matt Sigley appears to be who you're talking about.. nice fellow by all accounts but I don't think I ever met him properly.

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Thursday, 1 May 2003 00:59 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah, that's him -- I remember there were two Matts! I had met Matt Tow before but having all three of them around was good fun, very friendly and instantly easygoing. Chris Barrus and I killed time before the show perfectly as a result (well, with that and hearing A***n N******e from B***n J*******n M******e deliver some interesting stories about a certain new song off a certain new album by a certain band who might or might not be called something close to the 'Mandy Tarhols' that's in fact an uncredited cover of something Mr. N******e wrote three years before...).

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 1 May 2003 01:10 (twenty-two years ago)

oooooh. which B**J**M track?

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Thursday, 1 May 2003 01:13 (twenty-two years ago)

;-) The song in question is "I Am S***d," and if Mr. N******e is right (and it sounds like he is), he recorded it as a demo three years back for TVT, performed it here and there, has recordings and documentation, etc. And lo and behold, look what now emerges. Apparently the lawyers are in fact being called in as I type. Mr. N******e had plenty of other stories to share as well, such as teaching certain Mandy Tarhols members on what ProTools was (which might explain WHY the new album sounds the way it does). Now mind you, the whole tangled saga of these two bands probably means nobody's exactly right in the end but I dunno...

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 1 May 2003 01:24 (twenty-two years ago)

David I wonder if I've bought records from you - I bet I have...

Unfortunately not. I've only had about one or two Australian buyers ever. Strange.

David (David), Thursday, 1 May 2003 04:40 (twenty-two years ago)

I only have 6, amusingly.

Dan I. (Dan I.), Thursday, 1 May 2003 05:26 (twenty-two years ago)
