Habits you should really should get rid of

I have this really bad habit of picking at my hair. Sometimes I get lost in the bathroom but not in the shower, no. I'm stuck on the toilet seat picking at my hair and then pulling it out. Takes me about half an hour to realise what I'm actually doing. I must stop.

Another bad habit I want to combat is excessive biscuit dipping. Yep. I dip biscuits in my tea. I take one, just one, and then just one more, or maybe two more and this horrible obsessive process just continues. I can never stop.

I leave everything till last minute even though 90% of the time I've got loads of freetime (i.e. non-important stuff) to do the damn essay, report, assignment or whatever.

Furthermore, sometimes I'll read about ten books at once, which I don't think is particularly a bad habit but other people do.

I also sing too much.

Picking at blemishes.
Dithering in grocery aisles (especially in front of the ice cream), wanting to buy something that's not on my grocery list.
Listening to the radio in my car (the radio cannot pick up any stations worth the listening effort).

I roll my eyes constantly. It gets me into all sorts of trouble when people think I'm directing it towards them. But it's like a stress reliever to me. I also don't think before speaking or acting a lot.

Smoking (except I don't want to quit. Not at ALL. I want them to magically become good for me, as God intended before he cursed the tobacco plant for being the one the snake hid under during that whole apple bizabing). Doing things which are not writing (I do and don't want to do this; I want to have more time, sleep less, have an extra set of me). Procrastinating finding an exercise source to replace tennis, since my tennis partner stopped playing after pinching a nerve in her hip.

I smoke and I will quit eventually. I sometimes fiddle with my sideburns when i am nrvous, but only if they have not been trimmed recently. other than that, i am perfection incarnate ;-)

Habits I should get rid of: yelling things like "NICE BAT TURN, ROBIN" at people who cut me off in traffic (this IS LA after all); cracking my knuckles; accepting when my male friend challenge me to an "I can drink you under the table" contest. (They never can)

Drinking while watching movies (note: this is kinda cool cuz then you can watch the film again later and it's like brand spanking new!).

Holding incense sticks like they were cigarettes (usually when I've been drinking...wait, I carry incense sticks with me at all times = oh shit I really am a hippie, fuck!).

Chewing gum with my mouth open (someone told me yesterday that, when I chew gum, I get this Corey-Haim-from-the-80s goofy slack-jawed grin...I immediately began chewing with my mouth SHUT).

I was told by someone today that my unshaved armpits are a bad habit. I was wearing a tight T-shirt with v. short sleeves, so it was showing a bit. Er, yes. So I said, 'So what? Madonna doesn't always bother either, you know.' She replied, 'Madonna's horrible anyway!'

At some point I started yelling "shit" and "fuck" during particularly forceful sneezes because I found it funny that my mom never seemed to notice that I was doing it. I still do it, only now I don't usually think about it. Most people do notice, and I've started to wonder if maybe my mom was just not bothering to let on about it.

two years pass...

For whatever reason, I never go to the bathroom at work. It's not a conscious thing, but I just don't do it. It's sort of a habit, I guess. I drink tea all day and never even feel the need to drain the iguana until I get home.

Smoking, but even worse - flicking the lit smoke repeatedly against the ashtray side, as I'm always worried ash will fall off and go all over me. Instead, I flick at it so much I always end up dicking my cigarette.

*wonders if that saying carries outside of aus*

Also: nose rubbing much like Sarah said above, swearing, sighing loudly for no reason, and talking to myself ALL THE TIME.

haha that reminds me of this girl i dated very very briefly five or six years ago.. she would regularly (probably every 10 minutes or so on average) make happy little sigh noises and tbh it drove me insane! it was one of many reasons it didn't go anywhere..

Does anyone do this? I've noticed that when driving, after making a particularly difficult merge or lane change, I jump up a little in the seat and move forward before returning to my regular position. I didn't think so.
