So, I'm coming to London...

On the 25th of June I'm going to arrive in London. I'll be going home on the 9th of July. Some of my time in the UK will be spent in Edinborough. My girlfriend is coming to London on the 2nd.

Questions:

Who wants to meet me? Shall we organise a FAP at some stage?

And the annoying prattish one: Does anyone fancy putting me up for a couple of nights when I arrive? (Before I fly up to Edinborough.)

Andrew, I have a sofabed available to you at any time. I'd feel honoured to accommodate you, after you have accommodated ILE all this time!

If you get a better offer (the sofabed is in the living room, I have a lodger, and it's out in East Ham, not very central)(and it's me!), I very much want to meet and FAP too. I suspect you won't have to buy your own drinks. It's not clear how much time you are here or how much you'll be alone (when meeting ILXers will presumably be more welcome than when your girlfriend is here too), but more than one FAP seems to me to be in order.

Andrew being a fine person through and through, give him many FAPs! Plenty of accomodation! Etc.! :-)

just london and edinburgh?

you should visit glasgow, too, really. there could be an inaugural, actual ILx FAP. with people like cozen, etc. but he doesn't need to meet, etc. OK.

Okay I was going to delete that on grammatical grounds alone but then I noticed: Pepsi has a billion-dollar MONKEY??

Is it made of platinum?

(I think it was the use of the name "Ham" -- as in "East Ham" -- that might have set our vegan friend off.)

Michael Daddino (epicharmus), Saturday, 3 May 2003 16:10 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh...so it's being posted elsewhere. Nevermind, then. Delete as appropriate.

Michael Daddino (epicharmus), Saturday, 3 May 2003 16:11 (twenty-two years ago)

I haven't mentioned sweet, delicious ham on every thread, though.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Saturday, 3 May 2003 16:12 (twenty-two years ago)

Why the hell not?

Michael Daddino (epicharmus), Saturday, 3 May 2003 16:15 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah, get to it.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Saturday, 3 May 2003 16:16 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm too busy deleting dozens of Vegan posts to every thread in sight.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Saturday, 3 May 2003 16:17 (twenty-two years ago)

Wow, thanks Martin! I might just have to take you up on that offer.

The idea is that I'll spend a few days in London before going to Edinburgh, and then go back south when my girlfriend flies in. Right you are about the "sans girlfriend; fap" connection - it would be better that way because she doesn't want to meet my "nerd friends", meaning anyone I know through the Internet. (Ironic, considering that's how I found her :)

Do you think I'd be better off organising a FAP closer to the time? Threads that plan too far in advance tend to die a slow death, and take the plans with them.

Hrmm. I'd like to go to Glasgow, but accomodation is a problem. (Unless more kind ilxors will come to my rescue?) Having spent 6 months away from home with no work has left me rather poor.

Also, are there ilxors in Edinburgh? Doing something of a grand tour of British ILX FAPs would be fun.

Calum is there i think ;-)

Ed (dali), Sunday, 4 May 2003 15:00 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah, stay with Calum! Otherwise, I'd suggest making at least some FAP plans well in advance, so that those of us who do occasionally organise something else can keep at least one major FAP night free.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Sunday, 4 May 2003 16:22 (twenty-two years ago)

It's looking like we'll have to keep at least three major FAP free nights going over the summer, Martin. It's visiting FAP-a-gogo down here at the moment.
