Posting music threads on ILE - classic or dud?

I'm going mostly on the basis of Gareth's IDM/undie thread and a couple of others, but I was thinking that if he'd asked that question on ILM it would almost certainly have become bogged down and/or hijacked by now rather than being one of the more interesting music threads I've read recently. And I think I approve wholeheartedly - especially if the two communities are going to continue to diverge to the extent they have recently.

Yeah but not too much. I think posting that particular thread to ILE was a fine idea on Gareth's part. I still think that ILM is a great resource for RFIs and general knowledge. But I've long since stopped going there to debate.

I'm much more likely to read a music thread on ILE than on ILM.

I think that the IDM/undie thread being on ILE was a very good idea and a very good thread; I thought the 3 or 4 threads Gareth also posted at a similar time were too obscure and/or specific, and as such would have been much better off on ILM.
