So I will be on holiday in London with my squirrel blocking bitch and would like to meet whoever is available. I was thinking perhaps Thursday May 15 or Sat. May 17, or perhaps both?

I'm not sure where everyone is located or what your pleasure is. We'll be staying in a b&b in Bloomsbury but we can get to anywhere in a skip. I was trying to think of a pub that would be roomie and not have music blaring where we could talk easily. I'm kind of fond of The Dive Bar (seedy, caverny, plays 60s music on Gerrard St. on the edge of Chinatown). Or maybe we can head to EC1 and we can go trendy bar/pub hopping. If it's nice out we could stand outside the Bricklayer's Arms on Charlotte or go to that bar on Brick Lane across from 93 Feet East that has that big outdoor courtyard. Then again we could just stay in Soho and do one of the pubs there. But we have nowhere to be those days and anything is good for us.

So suggestions, comments more karaoking, more picnics?

haha bricklayers arms! that place is as much a chemists as a boozer. its alright though, i quite like it!

the one opposite 93ft east is trumans brewery/vibe bar/whatever they're calling it now. thats not bad either if weather is good

but i'll be honest with you, the chances of you getting this lot over to EC1/EC2 is pretty damn slim.

dont know dive bar, or maybe i do, but when we went it was playing ghetto tech and miami bass while south london geezers looked menacing. course it could have been a different place on gerrard street, i kinda forget.

as i believe i mentioned on another thread its my birthday on the 15th so might not be around that night, but i'm currently still undecided about what to do...will probably be in the Atlantic Bar & Grill or Glasshouse Stores on the Friday (16th) for official booze-up but i'm too scared to invite anyone for fear of them not turning up...Saturday sounds cool tho...

Well maybe then we'll just a have a mini Fap on Thursday (after work?) near Bloomsbury for whoever can make it and just wants to relax and talk and then try to plan something more substantial for Saturday. Are you a karaoke fan, Carey? Our karaoke FAPs are Bloomsbury (Tottenham Court Road, if that's still Bloomsbury) on Thursday nights. Nothing 'mini' about them though. And Stevem, I suspect that FAPs on three nights in a row will cut numbers for each, but many people (perhaps even including me) won't be able to make every night.

tonight's FAP was good - good turnout. the Brickies is small so ILX basically dominated the entire floor. most people went off after closing but some of us went to the Spanish Bar that is actually a Jamaican Bar but is really only any good on a Tuesday night it would seem...then Gareth and I desperately searched for somewhere else decent to drink when that got boring/too busy...with only fleeting success. great to meet Carey and Franz tho, didn't get a chance to meet/speak to Mandee properly but maybe next time.

Yes I was extremely disappointed with the so-called New Spanish Bar, a level of ruin was however achieved, I'm very glad I didn't get home and post all the things I thought of posting on the tube. Yeah, it was pretty good - got to meet several nice new people, who were all lovely - nu-spanish bar was a bit of a letdown (they told the harmonica man off for playing his harmonica, which was a bit of a shame, and the DJ seemed to be quite sensible with their funky house or whatever it was), but at least I managed to get home on one nightbus this time (albeit after asking a policeman which road I was meant to get it from, and him telling me to walk to Trafalgar Square, which I knew was bobbins...)

Awww, thanx Ned, you never know, cheap Easyjet flights and whatever I might make it to a FAP you are attending one day...

As it turns out I will now be staying in wonderful Milton Keynes this weekend (oh joy....). I'm not sure of the travelling time/distance, especially worried about the intricacies of getting back to Milton Keynes in a drunken state...but if anyone wants to meet up for a wee pint or two this weekend, please shout out....
