So how do you get in to this, we have had a spam fax to work about this but can anyone do it? Do you get paid? could i quit my job and become a proffesional mystery shopper?

You get into it the same way you get into doing any other market research fieldwork - so yes pretty much anyone can do it. You do get paid but not much. A professional mystery shopper earns about the same as a clipboard person, maybe a little more. It's probably more fun though - you get to say "You've been mystery shopped"*

My girlfriend does this. You don't make much - there's a website somewhere, do a google for "nopworld" (in the UK).

My wife has done this for the past couple of years. You can't make a full-time living out of it (unless your living expenses are really low), but we have gotten free movies and free dinners out of it...

one year passes...

i'm signing up to be a mystery shopper, can't wait to be caught up in a web of intrigue, money, upc codes, suspicious managers, lazy employees, bad service, murder(?).
