electric sound of jim (electricsound), Thursday, 8 May 2003 03:50 (twenty-two years ago)

I thought this was gonna be about ILX toilets or something.

Trayce (trayce), Thursday, 8 May 2003 03:54 (twenty-two years ago)

Trayce, the iLoo could make ILX toilets a reality! Can you not see the absurditybrilliance??

donut bitch (donut), Thursday, 8 May 2003 04:05 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't know, I'm too scared to actually read the article :-/

Trayce (trayce), Thursday, 8 May 2003 04:15 (twenty-two years ago)

All I can say is that I'm in favor of these high-tech corporate-sponsored toilets at public events. I was at a big festival in Asheville, N.C., last summer, and instead of the standard portapotties, there were these amazing air-conditioned toilets with hot and cold sinks, towlettes, etc., all sponsored by Charmin (so you were also absolutely guaranteed of having abundant toilet paper). It was fab. Of course, there was also a little TV screen in there showing Charmin commercials (talk about a captive audience), but I didn't give a...or, um, well...you know. It seemed a small and reasonable price to pay for such a fine public service.

JesseFox (JesseFox), Thursday, 8 May 2003 04:24 (twenty-two years ago)

I love only one?

Paul in Santa Cruz (Paul in Santa Cruz), Thursday, 8 May 2003 04:58 (twenty-two years ago)

Microsoft are doing some toilets at Glastonbury this year, complete with net terminals.

Ed (dali), Thursday, 8 May 2003 05:02 (twenty-two years ago)

I'd hate to be the one cleaning those nets

buttch (Oops), Thursday, 8 May 2003 06:00 (twenty-two years ago)

This is what they meant when they said the internet was down for cleaning, I suppose.

Trayce (trayce), Thursday, 8 May 2003 06:03 (twenty-two years ago)

it's the public toilet aspect that's dodgy to me. i am looking forward to the day when i have an apple laptop and an airport so i can bring it into the bathroom :)

ron (ron), Thursday, 8 May 2003 06:25 (twenty-two years ago)

Wow you must have a big bathroom! *BOOM BOOM*

Trayce (trayce), Thursday, 8 May 2003 06:46 (twenty-two years ago)

nickn (nickn), Thursday, 8 May 2003 07:25 (twenty-two years ago)

ron (ron), Thursday, 8 May 2003 07:28 (twenty-two years ago)

Well, I've seen some stuff on BME that would...

... probably rob me of the ability to get through the day without looking down my pants every couple minutes going "everything's still cool here, right? Okay, great. Keep at it," if I were to think about it again, so nevermind.

Tep (ktepi), Thursday, 8 May 2003 07:38 (twenty-two years ago)

I've never got this whole reading in the loo thing, preferring to spend no more time than is strictly necessary in the place. Also, I wonder what kind of websites people might be tempted to surf whilst in the privacy of such a facility. Things could get messy, right?

Gordon (Gordon), Thursday, 8 May 2003 10:42 (twenty-two years ago)

I know... there's nothing worse than going to the toilet and finding the mouse all sticky.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 8 May 2003 10:44 (twenty-two years ago)

Will there be webcams?

Old hat -- there's already been at least one litter box webcam.
