trimming nasal hair

I'm going out to work in a sec so can't be too long. One question before I go:

How important is trimming nasal hair?

A: Essential - cut that shit off!
B: As long as you can't touch it with your tongue, that's cool
C: Trim nasal hair? Yuck! Not only disgusting but also dangerous putting sharp implements up your nose!

I ask this because when I mentioned that I did this about once every two months or so I got very funny looks off my friends.

Right, off I go! 300 new answers by tomorrow please!!!

I predict, incorrectly, that this will be the most popular ILX thread of all time.

I pluck when they hang out of the nostril. otherwise, they're there for a reason.

Perhaps it's something you should do and NOT tell you friends about.

Sarah McLsky (coco), Thursday, 8 May 2003 15:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Horace=OTM

I dread the onslaught of middle-aged ear hair.

Nordicskillz (Nordicskillz), Thursday, 8 May 2003 15:58 (twenty-two years ago)

Middle-aged ear hair would be especially frightening if you were only a youth at the time. I mean - hair that's older than you are! eek!

caitlin (caitlin), Thursday, 8 May 2003 16:05 (twenty-two years ago)

Sometimes nasal hair totally looks trimmed. Like Jason Schwartzman--you can totally tell he has one of those electric trimmers.

Mandee, Thursday, 8 May 2003 16:14 (twenty-two years ago)

i need to do this but i fear the pain and sneezing fits it will trigger

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 8 May 2003 16:15 (twenty-two years ago)

I trim mine mostly because I have a big ugly nose and like to keep people from staring at it, but I just use either scissors or the trimmer part on my razor, and I try to keep it to a minimum, just so the hairs aren't hanging out.

Bryan (Bryan), Thursday, 8 May 2003 16:17 (twenty-two years ago)

Plucking them out makes my eyes water. I usually trim them with fingernail clippers once they protrude beyond the nostril.

o. nate (onate), Thursday, 8 May 2003 16:20 (twenty-two years ago)

Sarah = OTM. But why has Nick A abbreviated himself?

Mark C (Mark C), Thursday, 8 May 2003 16:20 (twenty-two years ago)

I have an electric trimmer (a Remington, I think) I bought for my ears, but it's come in handy for my nose as well. I'd say it's important not have hair hanging out of your nose.

Rockist Scientist, Thursday, 8 May 2003 16:21 (twenty-two years ago)

I trim my nose hair meticulously. You could eat off the inside of my nose.

lawrence kansas (lawrence kansas), Thursday, 8 May 2003 16:21 (twenty-two years ago)

It looks like a very primitive vibrator.

Rockist Scientist, Thursday, 8 May 2003 16:21 (twenty-two years ago)

When you get to my age, this becomes more and more pressing, I'm afraid.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Thursday, 8 May 2003 21:14 (twenty-two years ago)

I notice a distinct lack of girlies answering. Which leads me to wonder (as you do), do wimmins ever get protruding nasal hair? I mean... ew.

Trayce (trayce), Thursday, 8 May 2003 21:25 (twenty-two years ago)

Does anyone else grease up their nose hairs and carefully place them over their top lip so that they look like a handlebar mustache, or is this just me?

NA. (Nick A.), Friday, 9 May 2003 11:27 (twenty-two years ago)

ew!

I pull them out! I quite enjoy it. its like a more painful version of squeezing blackheads. veeeeerrry satisfying.

but horace is OTM. one shouldn't get carried away.

i find pulling my eyebrows quite satisfying too.

gaz (gaz), Friday, 9 May 2003 11:47 (twenty-two years ago)

i find pulling my eyebrows quite satisfying too.

Oh, I can never bring myself to do that. Isn't it painful?

Nordicskillz (Nordicskillz), Friday, 9 May 2003 11:49 (twenty-two years ago)

weirdly enough there seem to be, pick yer time, eyebrow hairs a-ready to go. they pop like ripe pimples. no pain.

the catch is its hard to stop trying to find another.

gaz (gaz), Friday, 9 May 2003 11:55 (twenty-two years ago)

eight months pass...
oh dear Lord it's driving me mad today

stevem (blueski), Tuesday, 27 January 2004 17:12 (twenty-two years ago)

You must burn them out with flame.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 27 January 2004 19:07 (twenty-two years ago)

FOUR CENTIMETRES

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 28 January 2004 13:33 (twenty-two years ago)

it's gone now, yay

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 28 January 2004 13:33 (twenty-two years ago)

four months pass...
sometimes it's easy pulling out my nose hairs. but sometimes it's snot

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Thursday, 24 June 2004 10:53 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't think I have any. But I will check next time I look in the mirror.

MarkH (MarkH), Thursday, 24 June 2004 11:39 (twenty-one years ago)

electric trimmer is the way to go. i have a friend who looks like he hides sasquatch in his beak.

Velveteen Bingo (Chris V), Thursday, 24 June 2004 11:41 (twenty-one years ago)

brilliant!
