I speak rather articulately and clearly, especially when I'm in that I've-been-drinking-and-I'm-almost-drunk-but-not-quite-yet state.

I have trouble having conversations with mumblers, cuz when I don't understand what someone says, I ask them to repeat themselves, even if they've already said the thing like 4 or 5 times. This was a BIG problem with my ex-before-we-were-exes, cuz she's the queen bee of all that is mumbling.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Thursday, 8 May 2003 18:31 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't think I mumble but when I don't want to talk I make my voice the pitch of droning so you can't hear anything. And I talk super fast so people have no clue what I'm talking about anyways, due to random content and speed. I knew this boy who mumbled and hated me because he was mean and I wouldn't go see a movie with him when he asked once. We fought all the time but when we did I would slip into my droney voice without knowing it and he would mumble, so it wasn't really fighting so much as

Me: drooooonnneeee fuck drooooone
Him: mumble mum mumble mum mum godamnit WHAT?
Me: WHAT? droonnne WHAT?
Him: fuck mum mumble WHAT? WHAT?
Me: WHAT? droonnee
HIM: WHAT? mum Game Theory mumble mumble

luna (luna.c), Thursday, 8 May 2003 18:41 (twenty-two years ago)

''I don't think I mumble but when I don't want to talk I make my voice the pitch of droning so you can't hear anything.''

you should record it and sell it and then I'll read abt it when members of the drone-on music group give it their thumbs up!

(/really obscure joke)

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Thursday, 8 May 2003 19:27 (twenty-two years ago)

I do if I'm feeling a bit shy (which is quite often) I "tail off" as well, like then after we all got home we er did.. .... .. (..) It must be very annoying. I'm better when somewhat inebriated tho'.

girls make me mumble.

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Thursday, 8 May 2003 20:05 (twenty-two years ago)

I only mumble in restaurants, but I always mumble in restaurants. I do this because I am the ultimate eye-rolling judgemental snob restaurant eavesdropper of all time, and do not wish to supply my competitors with eye-rolling fuel. This does not make my dining partners happy.
