I just got an email from an ex-gf that I haven't spoken to or seen since 1993.

Chris V. (Chris V), Friday, 9 May 2003 13:32 (twenty-two years ago)

i just felt like tellling someone.

Chris V. (Chris V), Friday, 9 May 2003 13:34 (twenty-two years ago)

that's very weird, what was it regarding?

hstencil, Friday, 9 May 2003 13:35 (twenty-two years ago)

I think that's cool. There are a few people I've not seen in ten years that I'd like to have the guts to contact.

Eyeball Kicks (Eyeball Kicks), Friday, 9 May 2003 13:37 (twenty-two years ago)

Neat. Does she want it?

jm (jtm), Friday, 9 May 2003 13:38 (twenty-two years ago)

More to the point, has she had it since?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 9 May 2003 13:44 (twenty-two years ago)

no, she just wanted to see what I was up to. Maybe she did want it. Once I replied with the "Im married now" I haven't heard back. Yes, Im sure she's had it. She wanted to tell me she's moving to Oregon.

Chris V. (Chris V), Friday, 9 May 2003 13:46 (twenty-two years ago)

i got one of these a while ago too. tracked me through my parents.

i was pretty fuckin deleriously happy with my SO at the time (still am). one mail was all i got. pity. nice, uh, person.

gaz (gaz), Friday, 9 May 2003 13:52 (twenty-two years ago)

I guess it was a nice gesture, I replied nicely. She was hot in 91-93, I wonder what she looks like now. I look pregnant.

Chris V. (Chris V), Friday, 9 May 2003 13:57 (twenty-two years ago)

I did that once. I e-mailed all my ex's one day last year because I was deathly bored. I mean I didn't want to do it or anything. I just always think it's a shame to be so close to someone and then have no contact.

Carey (Carey), Friday, 9 May 2003 13:59 (twenty-two years ago)

it was her Jon Cusack moment I suppose.

Chris V. (Chris V), Friday, 9 May 2003 14:01 (twenty-two years ago)

How many of them got back to you, Carey?

Mark C (Mark C), Friday, 9 May 2003 14:09 (twenty-two years ago)

2 out of 4. The 2 that didn't get back to me: one was my first boyfriend when I was 15, he gave me a Suede cd for my b'day and I gave him a Charlatans cd for his, he went to college, joined a frat, he put us on "hiatus" his words (freak) and I never heard from him again. I even went to the same college as him 2 years later and never ran into him. I was surprised at this because he was really nice, I expected him to write back. Number 2 was this musician I dated when I was 18. He was completely dependent on me, yet I tried to break up with him while in college, he didn;t want to, yet was cheating on me which I found out about when his other girlfriend called his house and I picked up the phone and took a message. Which I gave to him along with a beatdown. I think he's still scared of me. I've run into him 2-3 times and I'm friendly because I don't care but he always runs off.

Carey (Carey), Friday, 9 May 2003 14:18 (twenty-two years ago)

i thought about doing this right before I was going to get married. Try to contact all my ex's for closure. Cusack style, but then I decided it was a bad idea.

Chris V. (Chris V), Friday, 9 May 2003 14:19 (twenty-two years ago)

She wrote back. She's going to Oregon with her bf who's a professional soccer player. He just got traded. She had heard that I had gotten married and moved back to the area. She also made a joke about how we used to talk about getting married when we were 17. And she brought up some other things that I tried to forget. Is she trying to depress me or something.

Chris V. (Chris V), Friday, 9 May 2003 14:26 (twenty-two years ago)

Maybe she has fond recollections of you.

Carey (Carey), Friday, 9 May 2003 14:28 (twenty-two years ago)

i got a call from someone the year before last after there had been 3 years of no contact. i wouldnt say it was anything serious first time around, but i was disappointed when it fizzled out. she rang my parents, and got in touch with me that way. i was glad she did as we are good friends now

gareth (gareth), Friday, 9 May 2003 14:30 (twenty-two years ago)

Well I would hope so. Even though I insisted we have sex to the Cure.

Chris V. (Chris V), Friday, 9 May 2003 14:31 (twenty-two years ago)

The Cure is great sex music d00d!

nickalicious (nickalicious), Friday, 9 May 2003 14:35 (twenty-two years ago)

If I ever think this is a good idea, please kill me.

hstencil, Friday, 9 May 2003 14:35 (twenty-two years ago)

*memories of certain Cure songs popping to mind*

Okay, well the can be great sex music.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Friday, 9 May 2003 14:36 (twenty-two years ago)

"the" = "they", thanks

nickalicious (nickalicious), Friday, 9 May 2003 14:36 (twenty-two years ago)

i don't think losing her virginity to "Disintegration" was particually appealing to her.

Chris V. (Chris V), Friday, 9 May 2003 14:58 (twenty-two years ago)

this girl also witnessed the famous 'bingo' episode.

Chris V. (Chris V), Friday, 9 May 2003 15:03 (twenty-two years ago)

at least her MOS wasn't std related.

i have never lost touch with my serious girlfriends (3 of them).

2 of the 3 remain very close friends: one being my business partner (albeit somewhat in decline), the other is my partner in art.

gygax! (gygax!), Friday, 9 May 2003 15:04 (twenty-two years ago)

MOS = MO

gygax! (gygax!), Friday, 9 May 2003 15:04 (twenty-two years ago)

well at least she got the cure, i've put on REO Speedwagon with the gf I had right after her. I was unleashing my inner mullet. I tickled her with my mustache.

Chris V. (Chris V), Friday, 9 May 2003 15:12 (twenty-two years ago)

i have successfully cultivated a pencil moustache on my first attempt.

if only i looked like clark gable (or john waters even).

gygax! (gygax!), Friday, 9 May 2003 15:34 (twenty-two years ago)

eight months pass...
there's a woman who keeps sending letters to the Guardian on the subject of vegetarianism who either has the same name as an ex-gf of mine or who actually *is* her.
