...even if, like me, you haven't really played one in months.
HALF LIFE 2!!!!!!!!!

Dan I., Friday, 9 May 2003 23:57 (twenty-two years ago)

HAving just wiped out the "Nihilanth" in "Half Life 1", I concur, or at least I would if my computer were fast enough to run it.

That's the last boss, right? That thing was really freaky. Like, this giant wizened fetus that threw energy balls at you.

Dan I., Saturday, 10 May 2003 00:09 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't think this quite counts, but if I weren't moving in a few weeks (hopefully; hmm, at some point I should pack), I'd be picking up a Playstation 2 finally to play the EASports baseball game. A friend of mine has it, and damn. If this sucks by other baseball game standards, I don't even care: it's the first one I've played since the NES one (there's a major lag time between video games becoming popular and me playing them. I hear the kids are all going nuts for this arcade thing called Spy Hunter, that any good?)

That's it. It was really gross, its head opened up at the top, and I had to throw hand grenades into its brain to destroy it.

I saw screenshots of half life 2 in this magazine in a shop to-day, it does look really amazing. One of the monsters is this 10-storey high thing with long spindly legs, really nightmarish!

ENTER THE MATRIX!

No more playing Max Payne and inventing convoluted rationalisations in my head about Max being an alternate 'One', what with the bullet-time feature used by that game!

Piloting Hovercraft against Sentinels!

Kung Fu!

Michael Stuchbery (Mikey Bidness), Saturday, 10 May 2003 00:36 (twenty-two years ago)

Is Solitaire2003 coming out sometime?

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Saturday, 10 May 2003 09:59 (twenty-two years ago)

Sam & Max 2 - yay!

(and Virtual PC, alas)

Frühlingsmute (Wintermute), Saturday, 10 May 2003 10:27 (twenty-two years ago)

i haven't played a new video game in ages, and i don't have max payne (or a computer/console fast enough to run it), but may i suggest that mr. stuchberry check this out.

mitch lastnamewithheld (mitchlnw), Saturday, 10 May 2003 10:48 (twenty-two years ago)

i wish i could get back into games...i had a recent MAME revival phase but thats it - i'm a bit retarded when it comes to the new games, i can't cope with having to press more than two buttons.

stevem (blueski), Saturday, 10 May 2003 13:56 (twenty-two years ago)

The new Zelda!

No, hang on, I already have that. What the hell am I supposed to be waiting for now?

Sequels to great games (Ico, Halflife, Ratchet, Jak, Soul Calibur)

And great sequels to good games (Xenosaga, Breath of Fire, Dark Cloud), though those three I'm really wary of as they're combine to make the anti-life equation.

And maybe Full Throttle 2. But to be honest, maybe I'll try that life thing (haha the sims) after finishing the Zeld. And going back through getting everything. And then I'll want a reference game of Ocarina for trouble-shooting Starry, and I wonder how different Master Quest is.... shoot me now.

Looking forward to Medal Of Honor : Rising Sun

Chris V. (Chris V), Monday, 12 May 2003 11:37 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh yeah, I saw a preview of the next Metal Gear game too. It looks pretty cool; I think it's going to be a remake of the very first one for NES (like, in the jungle with flares and dogs and stuff). But it's called "Snake Eater", and the preview shows Solid Snake eating this big python and going into some kind've berserker rage, which is kind've... weird.

I will replace my computer system when Doom III comes out. Also waiting for Half-Life 2 and World in Flames.

Sounds intriguing. Was he really wearing flares?

Nate Patrin (Nate Patrin), Monday, 12 May 2003 23:11 (twenty-two years ago)

No, no love for Halo 2. Microsoft is where great games companies go to die.

I'd like to change all my votes to the new Prince of Persia, which looks like it's going to kick all the ass.

Sam & Max 2
Seriously, if I had a penis, I'd have just gotten a hard on.

luna (luna.c), Tuesday, 13 May 2003 03:49 (twenty-two years ago)

Sam And Max 2? What the hell? You're joking... *Rushes to Google*

Chris Barrus (Chris Barrus), Tuesday, 13 May 2003 05:41 (twenty-two years ago)

Holy fucking shit... Details and trailer here: http://www.samandmax.net/main.php

Chris Barrus (Chris Barrus), Tuesday, 13 May 2003 05:45 (twenty-two years ago)

DO YOU SEE?

luna (luna.c), Tuesday, 13 May 2003 08:13 (twenty-two years ago)

On an unrelated note, I am looking forward to completing Metroid Fusion soon; I am on the last SAX battle. It has taken me summat like 7 hours to get this far (and that's just saved time, so you might as well double it!), which just shows my complete feebleness at games. AND I used an FAQ/walkthrough guide.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Tuesday, 13 May 2003 08:25 (twenty-two years ago)

Look at all the cheerful hydrocephalic citizens!

Chris Barrus (Chris Barrus), Tuesday, 13 May 2003 08:40 (twenty-two years ago)
