Things to do in London when you're just passing through...

Right, so I'll have about 7 hours in London a week on Tuesday, (8 am till 3pm) and about the same on the following Saturday (approx 3 pm till 10pm). I don't have a lot of money and will be carting a rucksack about with me.

What are the essential things I should do / see?

To be a bit more specific, I have done the main touristy things, open top buses and all that nonsense in the past. What I would ideally like is something slightly off the main tourist itinerary so that I can do something interesting rather than sitting around drinking cups of coffee and gawping at Tower Bridge.

The eats at Food for Thought in Covent Garden were really yummy of course the last time I was there was in 1997.
