Yo, DC people (esp DC tenants), can you help me?

Anyone ever brought a suit to DC Small Claims Court? My old landlord in the District won't give back my security deposit. It's complicated, I subletted from someone, and the landlord refuses to admit the person from whom I subletted even paid a deposit. This is what happens when you move into random group houses and your new housemates tell you everything will be fine, and then you move out of state and find out you're the only one who got cheated out of almost $700.

I'll fill in details if anyone's interested.

My understanding is that DC law is now very favorable towards tenants, although anything involving DC government is likely to be pain in the ass. Good luck!

thanks. Yeah, I heard that it was favorable. I don't mind going through the hassle, it is better than being angry b/c of the asshat landlord.
