On emailing Ned Ragget or other Dignitaries

Anyone else have problems with returned mail when emailing Ned? Is this Ned's way of insulating himself from the "real world" of email!!?? Tell me about your best experience ever with returned email.

I was trying to imagine what good experience of returned email there could be, but my experiences recently when someone got in the house and sent porn email about and apparently written by me to everyone in my address book, I was quite pleased with every address that bounced.

I'm *terrible* when it comes to replying to emails, but Ned always answers his emails pretty quickly. I wish I were more like him in that respect.

I sent Ned an email about 3 years ago after reading something in FT, before I even knew who he was. He responded, but I remember it being somewhat terse and perfunctory. GOOD ENUFF!

Argh, I do feel bad. Yes, I did get Julio's e-mail and haven't replied to it yet, and Mike's and Kenan's are also sitting in my 'to reply' box. Ack! :-( But please -- just send me reminders directly in the future. :-)

That said a couple of people have had problems e-mailing me because of bounced mail worries, and I've asked the folks at kuci.org to look into it -- there doesn't seem to be any set answer for why that's the case.

If its a random thing it could possibly be rules on kuci.org's mailserver, causing it to reject mail from any domain that doesnt have a reverse DNS address for itself. Oh god I've been in IT for too long, I'll get me coat...

Is it true that you are accepting submissions for the forthcoming ILX compilation, Ned? I seem to remember reading a thread to that effect, although I can't seem to locate it now.

Ned Raggett and other dignitaries should be addressed as dignitaries in the day of old were addressed ... "Your Excellency," "O Most Exalted," "King of All Shoegazers," "Vice Emperor of the Universe" -- stuff like that you know. He's already an Esquire of Learn'd Topics, lest we have all forgotten! :-)

Oh, missed this one, hi.

If you've emailed me in the last couple of weeks, I won't have got it. I can't pick up emails AT ALL currently - for the same reason as I can't update Freaky Trigger - no internet access at home. I found a place to live yesterday (yay) but it doesn't have a phone line installed yet, negotiating with landlord over getting one put in, and then hopefully I'll be back.
