I caved when I saw it for $29 at Best Buy. Of course, temptation also required that I watch all 13 episodes over the past two days.

I think my head's going to explode.

Welcome.

Yes! Another thread that will devolve into a dialogue between me and Mary!

As I've said elsewhere, I watched Season One of Dawson's Creek when it was first rerun, summer 1998. It was a major bonding session between me and my best friend from high school -- we'd been drifting apart once we went off to college, but watching the show rekindled our friendship (which was actually very Dawson-Joey-ish.)

Then, I went to England for six months and had her tape all of Season Two that I missed, which we then proceeded to watch in one weekend. Hurrah!

I never watched much of Dawson's Creek for the first years. I had no idea that Joey spent the first season looking like someone was going to hit her at any moment.

The hunched shoulders-and-bowed head school of acting.

I should have added a T/S: Joey v. Jen

miloauckerman (miloauckerman), Monday, 19 May 2003 21:05 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah, but in the first season, Jen just hugged herself self-consciously all the time. For those episodes, I'd pick Joey (not least because I thought Katie Holmes was mega-cute). More recently, though, Jen has gotten more fun and sassy, and Joey's been all indecisive and whiny. And she's starting to look all plasticky, too. Whoever it was (Chris V?) that said it looks like her face is about to melt off = OTM.

The hunched shoulders-and-bowed head school of acting.

Don't forget the flipping-the-hair-behind-the-ears technique pioneered by Claire Danes on My So-Called Life.

Try as I might, I can't.

one year passes...
I've now seen every DC episode at least twice thanks to TiVO and the TBS reruns.

My current favorite recurring theme - Joey's passive-aggressive deployment of her dead mother or criminal father whenever an argument or fight is going the wrong way or when someone else is whining.

Nice one. I am waiting with baited breath for the Season 3 DVD.

they've just restarted from the beginning here in england, the week after the final final episode. odd to see the original versions of all the scenes they are recreating towards the end.

in saturdays, episode 2, dawson was slagging off his film class film for being a dodgy sports drama, Helmets Of Glory, or something. *cough* Varsity Blues *cough*
