just booked a ticket for

just booked a ticket for onedotzero events this weekend - Wavelength (cutting edge music videos) on Saturday at 5pm and Gondry Forever (special feature on genius film-maker responsible for videos by Bjork, White Stripes, Daft Punk etc.) on sunday at 5pm at the ICA. thought some people here might be interested in this. there's lots of other events on all week there as well but if anyone likes the look of the two aforementioned events as I do then book your tickets and let me know

This is the first time I have really wished I was still in London. For a cultural reason, anyhow.

Michel Gondry's Let Forever Be video is my favourite video ever.

Aye, it's a cracker. When I worked in the tv department of an ad agency, I had to watch ads and promos over and over again every day. Gondry and Glazer, being the obvious choices, were the only ones that didn't drive me insane. MG has done an UNMISSABLE Air France ad with the Chemicals/Hope Sandoval track on it - look out for it, steve. Would come with you, but it would be too much like work! ;)

I was quite keen on seeing Human Nature as I don't think its getting a proper release over here. But then its supposed to be pretty crap so...

Pete (Pete), Tuesday, 20 May 2003 13:25 (twenty-two years ago)

I hate Glazer's vids. Gondry is fantastic though - N. is OTM about LFB. I'm interested in these events but I'm booked Saturday and probably busy Sunday too what with the imminent move.

is that why you didnt come out last Friday either? harumph

Human Nature's on Friday night - am tempted to go see it...might sell out soon (if not already)...where else can this film be seen?

stevem (blueski), Tuesday, 20 May 2003 13:33 (twenty-two years ago)

i like Glazer's style even if it does border on 'showy' - 'Karmacoma' is his best vid...and 'Sexy Beast' was very well directed i thought

UNMISSABLE Air France ad with the Chemicals/Hope Sandoval track on it

i remember seeing this...its the one where the airplane in distance is seen thru the window but in the foreground is a record player in a room and as the plane flies 'over' the record it acts like the needle and skips the groove...

stevem (blueski), Tuesday, 20 May 2003 13:37 (twenty-two years ago)

ooh I'd like to go to this

how much are tix?

j0e (j0e), Tuesday, 20 May 2003 13:37 (twenty-two years ago)

I've not seen either of those stevem, he may well be good when reined in at full length - I loathed the Guinness ad though and all the Radiohead/UNKLE ones.

Tico Tico (Tico Tico), Tuesday, 20 May 2003 13:38 (twenty-two years ago)

tickets are £6.50 for each show...bit pricey but i'd pay more to see this kind of stuff in a cinema (the cinema probably isnt that amazing but still...) - details are on the website as posted above

stevem (blueski), Tuesday, 20 May 2003 13:41 (twenty-two years ago)

I wouldn't exactly call Glazer a genius, but his stuff is more bearable that having to watch that shit B*****H T*****M stadium ad for the hundredth time in a day (literally).

is that why you didnt come out last Friday either? harumph

Shit. Sorry, was overwhelmed with menial tasks! Was it fun? :(

Will def try and make it out soon, but I have a busy coupla weeks!
