He posted under Xinoehpoel and says some pretty incriminating things regarding 911 and "predicted" something VERY BIG AND BAD would happen. Yet, in the next breathe he goes on to say it's what GOD wants. If it's what god wants, how could it be big and bad? Dumb fuck.

Already being looked into -- this one is making the rounds and is very...odd.

Be very careful Americans of all you see and hear. You are being geared up for war.

Guys. I was freaked out by that last night when it was pointed out to me. Figured it out today after I was forwarded something which was a Nostradamus prediction. I remembered that series of posts and looked into it further. Here's some stuff for you:

"In the City of God there will be a great thunder...two brothers torn apart by chaos. What the fortress endures, the greater leader will succumb. The third big war will begin when the big city is burning on the 11th day of the 9th month...two metal birds would crash into two tall statues in the new city and the world will end soon after"

"It has been foreseen that exactly three hundred and fifty years into the future, silver phoenixes shall strike down the twin brothers that carried the king's nation, which shall bring upon the apocolypse" (attributed to September 11, 1651 - add the 350)

"In the year of the new millennium and nine months, from the sky will come a great King of Terror. The sky will burn at 45 degrees. Fire approaches the great new city."

"In the new city there will be a great collapse, 2 twins torn apart by chaos...the third war will begin when the big city is burning"

These people are overreacting BIG TIME thinking he has something to do with this. He just read one of the many books of prophecy on the market - these are well known, I remember my mom using them to explain to me why we moved to the suburbs (my mom is insane, btw). Considering he posted them to a Nostradamus newsgroup, these people really should be ashamed of themselves - what kind of Nostradamus fans are these! ;)

Debatable as to whether or not it's fucking creepy that some dude 350 years ago predicted this shit, though, and I don't like the idea of the rest of it, ie the apocalypse, coming true.

The Nostradamus stuff is rubbish - this isn't an attack on whether Nostradamus was genuine or not, but apparently the prophecies circulating at the moment aren't even genuine. I smelled a rat when they were dated 1654, when I knew that he died in the 16th century, in fact in 1566 if I remember. For more info go here.
There is another e-mail circulating currently from another list, apparently containing an anonymous prediction that something big would happen yesterday, with overtones that the original poster was one of the hijackers. Whether this is genuine or not, obviously I can't say, but it is possible.

DG, Wednesday, 12 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

To second what DG said about Nostradamus -- garbage. Someone dug that up after it happened precisely because they were *looking* for it, and given the various translations of the extremely cryptic original French that can be found out there, I wouldn't trust this variant with a ten- foot-pole. Either way, this is sick wish-fulfillment on someone's part, made seductively attractive with the trappings. Ditch it.

Ned Raggett, Wednesday, 12 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

it's actually crap - some dude wrote it while doing an essay on nostradamus - blogjam has a link.

Geoff, Thursday, 13 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

These are made up. Nostradamus wrote in quatrains(4 short lines.) He did have a quatrain that said something about a fire from the centre of the earth on the 'new city.' He mentions the 'new city' a few times, but none of that bollocks above. Go to the library, it is Century 1, no. 87 I think.

phil chapman, Thursday, 13 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Made-up nostradamus is exactly as useful and insightful as real nostradamus

mark s, Thursday, 13 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Nostradamus is rubbish, sorry. The prediction he supposedly made about the disaster just as easily fits the fact that my washing machine exploded earlier this week and now the repairman is sick until next week.

Paul Strange, Thursday, 13 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Paul, if you need to use a washing machine get in touch. Our thoughts are with you.
