Sorry to start another of these threads, but...I really like Arthur. Is he still posting? I haven't seen him around these parts much lately. Anyone (Ned,Spencer) know?

Nordicskillz (Nordicskillz), Thursday, 22 May 2003 09:18 (twenty-two years ago)

he still posts regularly, but more sporadically

mark s (mark s), Thursday, 22 May 2003 09:41 (twenty-two years ago)

has anyone actually really lost their job for ilx-addiction and vanished for this reason only?

kodanshi = closest that i know of

mark s (mark s), Thursday, 22 May 2003 09:42 (twenty-two years ago)

I was told off on the last day of my previous temp job for the month that I had spent posting to ILX on their money. What can you say, really?

Nordicskillz (Nordicskillz), Thursday, 22 May 2003 09:44 (twenty-two years ago)

What, you mean Kodanshi wasn't fired for Interweb Filth reasons?

I'm wondering about the whearabouts of Lara Byrne - top of the Statscock by some way two months ago, and now hardly a blip.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 22 May 2003 09:46 (twenty-two years ago)

well yes kodanishi WAS fired for interweb filth reasons obviously

mark s (mark s), Thursday, 22 May 2003 09:48 (twenty-two years ago)

There is a fine line 'twixt ILX and interweb filth.

Nordicskillz (Nordicskillz), Thursday, 22 May 2003 09:54 (twenty-two years ago)

he's been caught between the moon and new york city.

Chris V. (Chris V), Thursday, 22 May 2003 10:58 (twenty-two years ago)

you know it's crazy, but it's true.

hstencil, Thursday, 22 May 2003 13:49 (twenty-two years ago)

Arthur should post more, definitely. Every time I say something like this I get lectured about tame lions but it's still worth saying!

Nicole (Nicole), Thursday, 22 May 2003 14:03 (twenty-two years ago)

The fact that he didn't post to the Redd Kross thread is highly suspect, but I did speak to him about two weeks ago. Who isn't jealous of his 'ran away from home in late 70s to live in New York and met every cool punk rocker you'd ever want to meet' story?

Sean (Sean), Thursday, 22 May 2003 14:06 (twenty-two years ago)

I haven't even heard that story, and I still think Arthur is great.

Nordicskillz (Nordicskillz), Thursday, 22 May 2003 14:12 (twenty-two years ago)

i missed him by thismuch when i was in LA :(

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Thursday, 22 May 2003 14:46 (twenty-two years ago)

I think he is in deep in teacher training, learning to impart little future Arthurs with the knowledge. I hope he finishes soon and moves to NYC.

Mary (Mary), Thursday, 22 May 2003 14:53 (twenty-two years ago)

Arthur is one of my true ILX heroes, and I do definitely miss seeing his regular posts. I hope it's because he's out doing something EVEN MORE FUN! Arthur, if you want I'll send you another mix CD, I think I still owe you one!

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Thursday, 22 May 2003 15:05 (twenty-two years ago)

As I've said before, Arthur is the #1 triple-genius of all time. Can you imagine having him for a schoolteacher? It'll be like the Simpsons where Dustin Hoffman is Lisa's teacher all the time.

Fritz Wollner (Fritz), Thursday, 22 May 2003 15:28 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm sure he's around and as noted is busy with the training stuff. He will be at GarethFAP, I'm sure!

Meanwhile, I'm in Seattle now but won't be posting too much for a few days. Still, hi there!

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 22 May 2003 15:36 (twenty-two years ago)

Hi!

Nordicskillz (Nordicskillz), Thursday, 22 May 2003 15:38 (twenty-two years ago)

What I want to know is, where is Bea Arthur?

NA. (Nick A.), Thursday, 22 May 2003 15:43 (twenty-two years ago)

I think Andrew said something about how Lara's web use was audited and now she dare not come near ILX.

however, she is still in work - I got an e-mail from her earlier this week.

DV (dirtyvicar), Thursday, 22 May 2003 15:59 (twenty-two years ago)

ARTHUR. DID YOU GET YOUR CDS. WHEN COME BACK BRING PIE.

jess (dubplatestyle), Thursday, 22 May 2003 16:03 (twenty-two years ago)

Actually I just got an email from Arthur a couple of days ago. He was having hella problems with his ISP for awhile.

Chris Barrus (Chris Barrus), Friday, 23 May 2003 01:43 (twenty-two years ago)

Let's hope they clear up and he returns to the fold.

*raises glass*

To Arthur!

Nordicskillz (Nordicskillz), Friday, 23 May 2003 06:07 (twenty-two years ago)

i was looking at the PUNK magazine coffee table bk & in the letters page from the 2nd issue there is a letter from him! i recognised the handwriting & everything!

duane, Saturday, 24 May 2003 02:27 (twenty-two years ago)

I want Arthur to know I have not forgotten the CDs I owe him.

P.S. Arthur is fantabulous.

amateurist (amateurist), Saturday, 24 May 2003 03:04 (twenty-two years ago)

Who is Arthur?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Saturday, 24 May 2003 14:39 (twenty-two years ago)

He's this rich lush w/ a snooty English butler.

Andrew L (Andrew L), Saturday, 24 May 2003 15:33 (twenty-two years ago)

Well, I guess I can't say I feel like Marilyn at the "Do They Know It's Christmas" recording sessions when I'm on ILM anymore, har har. This is so touching! Thank you everyone for the kind words.

Anyway, yeah, I'm deep in the middle of this teacher training boot camp thing, practicing my Miss Jean Brodie routine. 4 more weeks to go. Boy, some really irritating people are drawn to the teaching profession.

And my DSL service at home was shut off temporarily. Don't ever be late with your earthlink payment, it'll take you a month to get it turned back on again.

Jess, yes yes yes, I got the CDs. I'm still making my way through them, it was the UK Garage box set to end all UK Garage Box sets.

Sean C., yeah, send me another CD! I'll send you my address again, once I get set up w/ DSL at home.

Well, I'm off to find that Redd Kross thread.
