oh my god oh my god, I was just driving to the doctor's and I turned out of our road and I saw two guys RUNNING LIKE FUCKING MAD down the main road. Then I noticed that they were chasing a car WITH IT'S DOOR HANGING OPEN and one of the guys leaped HEAD FIRST into the open door and sped off and the guy carried on chasing them while screaming into his mobile phone and I KNEW KNEW that I was suddenly driving RIGHT BEHIND the perepetrators of a proper CRIME and what did I do???? I SPED UP AND STARTED CHASING THEM! YEAH really dumb. I don't really know what I was doing but I kept going and going and they were driving very fast but occasionally we both got caught in traffic and I was sat RIGHT behind them. I realised that I didn't have a phone and I couldn't chase them forever and eventually they turned off into a smaller side road (possibly to "shake me off"!!!), and I realised that continuing my pursuit might be a little dangerous and I needed to go get a prescription for my Ventolin. So I left the scene and called the police a bit later, but they didn't care...I'm gonna fucking miss Edgware.

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Thursday, 22 May 2003 14:03 (twenty-two years ago)

What make of car? What colour? Registration number? Exactly what time did this happen? Could you describe the people in the car? What were they wearing? How old were they? What colour hair?

This is like Crimewatch!! Very exciting!

That story sounds very Starsky and Hutch. Or possibly a bit of Guy Ritchie palaver, but Starsky and Hutch sounds better.

Nicole (Nicole), Thursday, 22 May 2003 14:04 (twenty-two years ago)

jesus when i have to get my ventolin prescription i wouldn't follow a slow moving van which was giving away free sex, ice-cream, buffy DVDs and more ice cream through the open back doors

mark s (mark s), Thursday, 22 May 2003 14:05 (twenty-two years ago)

You should have tried ramming them. Sideswiping them while shaking your fists. Then when they all got out of the car, you should have said, "I'm making a citizen's arrest!"

I need Ventolin but my stupid current dr won't refill it till i go see her again. (she'll only give me 3 refills at a time). I've been putting it off since the visit is$25, kind of out of protest. But I'm nearly out and won't be able to see her for another week. goddammit.

Smedgware=The Shelbyville to Edgware's Springfield. There is a guy there that looks like me, but is my exact opposite. He's really successful, healthy, and charismatic. DOWN with Smedgware!

Nordicskillz (Nordicskillz), Thursday, 22 May 2003 14:16 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah, you might as well think of The Dukes of Hazzard as a reality show.

My Ventolin doesn't glow green like that! I wish it did, it'd be much easier to find at 3 o'clock in the morning.

C J (C J), Thursday, 22 May 2003 15:06 (twenty-two years ago)

There's also a track called "Salbutamol" by Schematix. New thread subject: "Electronic music and asthma medicine"?

I am not convinced that anyone who would wait until their inhaler is running out before they get a new one is a serious asthmatic (asthmatic rockism!).

I only take four puffs of Ventolin on a normal day, but am on the equivalent of 40 puffs of Becotide daily. If I get ill at all I bump that up to 60, or 80 if things get bad.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Thursday, 22 May 2003 18:59 (twenty-two years ago)

I must recommend this for ilx athsmatix: http://www.buteyko.com/

My dad (biggest skeptic I know) started this program of breathing excercises in his late 40s after suffering lifelong athsma compounded by occasional bronchitis. After a year he was able to go off steroids and ventolin COMPLETELY. He's in his early 50s now and has probably used his inhaler less than once a year in the last five years. His allergies have also almost completely disappeared. It sounds weird but I can attest he's a new person.

teeny (teeny), Thursday, 22 May 2003 20:03 (twenty-two years ago)

that is totally mental! how come nothing like this ever happend when *i* lived in Edgware?

sand.y, Thursday, 22 May 2003 22:37 (twenty-two years ago)
