Itches - Search And Destroy

The inside bit of my ear is itching. I know of no way to assuage this short of cotton buds which I don't have at work. It is one of my least favourite potential itchy spots. What are yours?

tongue - its murder when it happens

That little spot at the back of your throat that tells you "you're gonna get a cold, son"

The surface of your brain.

Any part enclosed in a plaster cast. (Having once broken my arm 3 times in as many years - I have KNOWN the frustration of the knitting needle...)

Your soul!

The soles of your feet when you're driving!

Your index finger if you're just being Troubled and Moody (eg Mel Gibson in Lethal Weapon)

Search: itchy scabs you can then pick off!

Archel (Archel), Friday, 23 May 2003 13:42 (twenty-two years ago)

My cat likes having his scabs scratched and picked at. He *loves* eating them once I've picked them off.

caitlin (caitlin), Friday, 23 May 2003 13:49 (twenty-two years ago)

Search: Mosquito or black fly bites on one's back...if only to scald the mofos with really hot water in the shower.

Destroy: Waiting in NYC subway platforms at height of record-breaking heat wave with bubbling, oozing poison ivy rash all over arms, neck and half of torso. Infernal, for real.

Wired Flounder (Wired Flounder), Friday, 23 May 2003 14:59 (twenty-two years ago)

Destroy - scabies. Destroy A LOT.

Mark C (Mark C), Friday, 23 May 2003 15:05 (twenty-two years ago)

Tom, you must NOT put cotton buds in your ear! There's a warning! That's not what they are for! They're for um

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Friday, 23 May 2003 17:57 (twenty-two years ago)

New tattoos... you can't do anything except sort of slap them and mostly that just exacerbates it. Fuck is that annoying.

luna (luna.c), Friday, 23 May 2003 17:59 (twenty-two years ago)

Sometimes in the winter I get incredible, maddening itchiness on the soles of my feet after I take a shower. What hell.

slutsky (slutsky), Friday, 23 May 2003 19:25 (twenty-two years ago)

This woman told me you get cat scratch fever from being scratched by a cat. No! It's courtesy the Nuge, and I'm pretty darn sure it's some scary VD.

I have a scar on my shoulder that always itches...it's a mega dud.

Fivvy (Fivvy), Friday, 23 May 2003 19:27 (twenty-two years ago)

Great balls of fire: CLASSIC.

Wired Flounder (Wired Flounder), Friday, 23 May 2003 20:41 (twenty-two years ago)

Oooh i love the itch inside my ear. Call me a weirdo, but putting stuff such as a twist-tie in there feels really good...i think i'm addicted.
Search: itchin' to get outta the house...later y'all

oops (Oops), Friday, 23 May 2003 20:49 (twenty-two years ago)

shouldn't the title be "scratch and destroy"?

Sterling Clover (s_clover), Friday, 23 May 2003 20:55 (twenty-two years ago)

No, if you scratch them, they stay around longer: the opposite of destruction. This is the worst thing about itches.

Fivvy (Fivvy), Friday, 23 May 2003 21:25 (twenty-two years ago)

Roof of my mouth: symptom of one of my allergies.
Scalp: I do not care to draw people's attention to my tendencies to dandruff.
Naughty bits: other itches can be ignored if you have sufficient motivation. When this area's nerve endings get irritated you can't ignore it.

i sometimes get a very annoying itch right in the centre of my head sort of behind my nose that lasts for hours and connot be rubbed away (i hate scratching, it only makes things worse and the sound makes my skin crawl)
